At one time, this tree must have been the king of the forest, a huge Live Oak so tall it makes me dizzy trying to see the top. A fire must have raged through here not too long ago, though, and it looks like a lost cause...sigh. As I turn to walk away, a sliver of green catches my eye. What is this? Touching the blackened bark gives me a creepy feeling, almost like touching a corpse, until I strain my neck and look upwards. There...almost hidden by blackend limbs, is a sign of life, three little sprouts of new growth. I turn away with a spring in my step, knowing that the next time I come back I will see a riot of green leaves.

Big beautiful oak tree changing it's leaves for the fall. It's a strong, wise, old tree that is many years old. But it's healthy and vital as if it were a new tree. Gives shelter from storms, home to animal, food for forest creatures to eat. It's big and oh look a vine coming from the tree hanging over the water....just right for swinging.

It's a huge, beautiful oak tree. The braches are chaotic, but there is still a sense of order about them. The tree is stury and strong. It is on the side of my road.

It's tall, wide and has lots of branches that hang down with long leaves, like a willow tree.
