Can some please explain how we are to every learn human nature if there are ethical guidelines, into the way studies can be preformed?
If we can't make an controled experiment to test different behaviors of the human race, how can we better learn it?

You've mostly likely heard of the Prison Experiment. I belive the experiment should have been full seen through, that way you can really understand what happened.

I just belive we should be able to test other humans, without having to follow ethical guidelines.

Does anyone else agree with me?

Isn't simply telling someone he or she is being negative, negative?
Shouldn't we be like the Little Red Choo Choo Train in the
childrens story, and tell people, "I think you CAN, I bet you CAN,
I know YOU CAN!"

so i want to do a lucky dip and take out 20 out of the 30 results

Is that random sampling?
I tried to look for the definition online but they are far too complicated for me to understand!

It beggars belief some of the rude, insulting and foul answers that are given on here by some young Americans. Why is this?

This dream is bothering me and i want peoples opinions to what they think it might mean.
Well i was dreaming that it was new year's eve and my mum had invited me to a party, i declined the offer and we had 2 visitors, a guy and a girl, the guy was called Alan (i dont know anyone called alan) and these 2 people said they would look after me, and for some reason, i didnt like them.
So i set a trap in my bedroom, and they fell for it, and when the clock stricked 12 i stabbed them both at the same time!!
So i'm quickly regretting what i've done and im trying to revive them, but i fail miserably. All of a sudden my mum comes through the front door calling "hey darling, come down here and celebrate the new year with me"
So i walked downstairs not realising i had blood on my hands, mum noticed it and asked why i had bloody hands and i replied with "ermm period?"
So i run upstairs and hid the bodies under my bed and thats when i woke up....

I'm never shy when I'm with my friends, but when it comes to classroom discussions/debates I rarely speak up. I usually have something to say, but I rarely ever do it. I'm a high school student as well so it would be great if you'd know some ways to build strong relationships with your teachers (ex. for college recommendations). Thanks! (I'm shy in large groups most of the time)

I'm a slob personally. It doesn't bother be if clothes are piled on the floor that I have to step over, or if the carpet hasn't been vacuumed in a month.

I recently have been under a lot of pressure at work and because of that I have been in a bad mood and behaving very abruptly with people. I noticed that women at work seemed to find this behaviour in me attractive - I have never had so much attention. I found this surprising because I thought my behaviour was very bad. Why is this? I am mystified. Perhaps I should be like that more often.

My theory is that since we are all programmed to survive which means we have natural tendency to be selfish so we would harm others to protect ourselves even in everyday life.

I'm having a crisis. I'm a college student and I don't know who the hell I am. I wake up every day and just go through the motions. I'm there, but not really there... I don't know what to say or how to act around people, and when I am around people I'm completely silent. I have very few friends. I feel my life is falling apart. It's been this way for awhile, but I don't know what to do. I'm afraid something terrible is going to happen. Any life-saving advice?

I mean, i was at london's Waterloo Station today. I decided to get a pastry for £1.39. I gave the cashier £1.40 and she took TEN seconds (a rather long time to give back change). It looked like she was counting and ended up giving me 2 pence in change when it should be 1p. I know 2p is a very small amount, but it's the principle of getting such simple maths wrong
