Do what is in your heart to do. Don't listen to what other people say. That is the biggest tragedy today. Families pushing their children to be doctors or lawyers or whatever, when the child doesn't want to. If you do what you want to do you will live a happy, healthier, more fulfilled life.

The best test is the one you do yourself when you ask what it is that you feel you'd be happiest doing for a living and when you consider those abilities you have that you know are your strongest.

If you want ethics and human rights don't listen to anybody else. Go for that or go for some modified or related version of your original plan if you think there's a way to tweek it and increase your job prospects.

Check with your local community college; they may be able to offer career aptitude tests for a nominal fee. Also, you may be able to find "Meyers-Briggs" personality tests online (or in a book called "Do What You Are"). These tests help tell you what careers may fit with your temperament. Check also at your local bookstore, I've seen other tests in books that could be helpful.
