How tall you are is not who you are. What you do is what gets you to be heard or respected.
But be careful not to over-compensate. We've all heard it too many times and some have seen how obnoxious some people get when they try to make up for their height by being an ******.
Work on being great--not on being tall.
You're 14...haven't stopped growing yet anyway, don't worry about it either way.

Many boys at your age do a whole lot of growing between 14 and (as late as) 19 or 20. I knew someone who had a mother who felt bad for him because he was small at 14. Somewhere along the way he grew into a really tall person. At 14 he had little tiny hands and feet that made his mother think he'd always be small, so even the size of your hands and feet aren't always a good way to guess.
If your father is tall and your mother is average (which is what her height is for a woman) chances are you'll at least be taller than your mother. I know men who are five five or five six, and they're short; but it isn't the end of the world. A couple of them that I can think of are quite attractive and never seemed to have any problems finding girlfriends.
Hang in there. It is extremely unlikely you're through with growing at 14, especially if you're on HGH.
Make sure you wear sneakers or shoes that have thick soles, and wear clothes that make you look a little more on the grown-up side or polished side rather than some of the clothes that make young men of any height look like giant ten-year-olds - the big, droopy, clothes or baseball caps. You don't have to go too far out of what's fashionable for teenagers these days, but make sure whatever you select kind of leans more toward looking a little more grown-up. For example, there's the black oversized t-shirt with a picture on it or there's a plain one - go with the plain one. There are pants that look a little more polish (even if they're fashionably baggy) and there are giant, baggy, falling off jeans (little-boy looking). If you're someone who can find something other than that baggy look even better.
Write off some of the way others may treat you as nothing more than their ignorance (because anyone who thinks being grown-up has to equal a certain height is ignorant). Try to forget about how tall you are right now and just be yourself. If you're not thinking about it many other people won't notice it either, and even if they do they don't all think you're a little kid. Even if you meet some girl tomorrow at the height you are most girls don't care about how tall you are (although if they're super-tall they may feel a little weird to team up with a really short guy).

Be patient. I'm sure you will get taller especially over the next few years. And it is not true that just b/c you're short people don't respect you. Just be yourself. Height isn't everything. (You can always get a girlfriend who likes you for who you are. Being short is an insignificant matter in this case). Other things that may be helpful: eat healthy and excercise regularly <-- this isn't guranteed to make you taller, but it doesn't hurt to try since it can only boost your health.

I suspect at age 14 (only to be 14 again!!!!) that you have ALOT of growing to do yet including growing pains! It would seem that statistically the hereditery factor is smiling on you, and you will grow til you are much older. MUCCCCCCCH older! Worst case scenario, great things come in small packages. It's not how you are packaged but what's inside that counts! (I am tall, and I grew another inch between the ages of 18-20)

Dude, please chill out! You are only 14.
You're not done growing yet.
You will soon discover you've grown a inch, two inches, or more.. in a period of just a few months!!
This is commonly called a "growth spurt", and you will continue to grow. Everyone is different. I went through this when I was 13.
Your dad is 6'0". Your mom is 5'4".
Unless you your family has a recent history
of midgets, your gonna be just fine.
Be patient!!!

I think given enough time you will grow. Both your parents are tall so the chances are good that you will be too.
Imagine I'm fat and ugly AND short! And you think you have it bad? I am way past my teen years, too.

Don't worry...men often have a major growth spurt in high school. In fact, some people actually continue to grow during their college years.

dont worry, i know people who are short and have had alot of girlfriends. you either have already hit your growth spurt, or its just taking you some time to get taller. i also know people who were short and they grew taller and are taller than me now. it all depends on your posture, nutrition, vitamins and minerals, how much sleep you get, and just feel tall. it will work.

You're only fourteen, you have years of growing ahead of you. And playing basketball will not make you taller, that's ridiculous. Height is genetically pre-determined.
