I mean, i was at london's Waterloo Station today. I decided to get a pastry for £1.39. I gave the cashier £1.40 and she took TEN seconds (a rather long time to give back change). It looked like she was counting and ended up giving me 2 pence in change when it should be 1p. I know 2p is a very small amount, but it's the principle of getting such simple maths wrong

Just imagine how dull the world would be if everyone is as clever as you are.

Her brain was probably on autopilot but hit some turbulence when there weren't any 1p's left in the till. I know that analogy is a bit crap coz you were in a train station not an airport, but you get the idea. She was maybe thinking how much hassle her boss was going to give her for the till being out but decided (in the 10 seconds) to suffer the possible consequences.

I would assume that the cashier was somewhat preoccupied with other things than her work at the moment. I believe that she wouldn't have been assigned to the job should she be unqualified for the position -- a cashier who doesn't know simple math -- it's ridiculous. You're too quick to judge. I wonder if you returned instead the extra pence she gave you.

Perhaps she was new to the job; perhaps she was not used to working with members of the public; perhaps she was foreign and not used to UK coinage. And last but by no means least; perhaps you should get a life and not be so mean minded.

PS Are you a time and motion consultant; After all who would time anybody giving them change other than a weirdo.

No 10 points here but who cares.

Think yourself lucky that you weren't born the son/daughter of a crack head or alcoholic cos the offspring are generally brain damaged in some way . Try and be a bit more patient with thick people, I know it's hard but they really can't help it, u clever little bugger you.

She didn't have any one pences left in the till and had to decide whether to give you the two pence and then perhaps get into trouble when her till is short.

Maybe she was thinking about other things rather than how much money you gave her etc. Probably not the most important event of her life after all...

She kept your Lordship waiting 10 whole seconds?Gosh, the peasants are really getting out of control, aren't they? Why would you even bother waiting for a miserable penny?

I think you're thick not to understand that everyone has different intelligence levels. You're the one with empty space between your ears!
