Last night I dreamt that I peeled a very large scab from my forearm.. It was rectangular, about the size of an ice cream sandwich, and it came off smoothly, easily, and was in perfect condition.. It was about a quarter of an inch thick.. My arm was raw but not bloody. Only slight pus and redness. Then I woke.

Any ideas on dream analysis? I can't find anything when I do my search.

I'm asking because my grandma (who was very old and bedbound) told my mom just before going to sleep for the last time that she had to get up, she had an appointment at the mortuary and she couldn't be late. Her death came on pretty suddenly - I mean, she was 95, but the nurses told us we'd have about two weeks' warning, and she'd go through recognizable steps.

She'd talked a lot about death in the last few months - her husband's, old neighbors, stuff like that, but never her own.
Anybody else have any experiences like this? What do you think - can people sense the day as they die?

Thanks; I appreciate any input!

Hi, i am a single child born and live with my parents, i haven't have that many friends almost near zero. I blame this on my shyness/social anxiety and lack of confidence. I have graduated with a great degree and excellent gpa and all, i should be pursuing great companies and live a normal life as people do, BUT this social anxiety factor is preventing me from doing all these things and anxiety is keep growing. I wanna live a normal life and have healthy relationships be liked. I for some reason cannot come out of my shell with new people. I just dont have anything interesting to say at social events, i just keep quiet so i dont look ridiculous. I have lots of opinion but i just cant able to express them in right way and feel i get misunderstood a lot by people, i am a positive thinker and dont drink do drugs or any negative things and i really wanna change things and help people, anyone has any advice for me, i will appreciate any feedback or experiences that u share.

We saw this show on discovery channel a cple weeks ago about this kid who was using these two metal sticks and after he was done he almost got possesed. So my bf thinks that all this stuff is a big joke cause hes a biologist and he knows everything! Anyways he went on ebay and bought some. Then he started walking around his apt saying nonsense chants and making the poles touch. Well I have noticed over the past week that he is not him self. He has been looking really tired. I asked him what was wrong and he was like nothing just cant seem to sleep. He told me he keeps having these weird dreams. So I slept over at his place and I couldnt sleep either. I kept having dreams of this demon chasing me and my bf. The worst one was a dream of my bf sleeping and this demon standing over him. The demon turned around and saw me watching and just started to laugh. Im freaking out now! Is this just cowincdence that were having the same kind of dreams or should I be worried? Advice?

Before scissors were invented, how did people clip their toenails, fngernails, bear and hair? Wouldn't all these grow to unbearable lengths? Especially the fingernails, wouldn't it be hard to grab anything without trimming them on a daily basis?

Everybody always says go see a doctor.

"I've experienced discomfort in my ankle recently"
ANS: "Go see a doctor immediately"

"I feel tired."
"You may have a serious disease, see a doctor now!"

"I yawned, is that normal?"
"If it was over or under 6 seconds in duration then it could mean you have jaw cancer. Check with your doctor now!"

I mean, come on. If I am in serious pain, I'll see a doctor. But otherwise, I'll save my money. Doctor's are just people with a higher knowledge of various health conditions. They make recommendations like "oh just wait a few days and see what happens..." and in a few days, you're fine! Now did I need to visit a doctor for that?

And don't tell me that you should always check just in case. It's not worth the money. Yeah, maybe I'll die soon because I refuse to see a doctor over a minor issue, but the chances of that aren't very big. I'll take my chances.
:)

The suede jackets with fox fur trim. Lovely sweaters. Ankle length wool coats. Square toe boots. The hair shines more than ever. Skin glows from the cool air. I dunno, every winter I'm stunned at how newly beautiful women become. Anyone else?

There is a trend of lumping together one poster, who occasionally comes off as somewhat haughty, with another poster who is utterly hateful and irrational. Also insisting (with no evidence I can see) that the hateful poster is also another poster. And lumping that hatefulness with one poster who is a cheap shot artist and pseudo-intellectual (but not usually nasty to people) and another who asks very thoughtful, intelligent questions, but shows occasional sanctimony. Why are these women being lumped together?

Would it be any more fair to lump one guy who sends threatening posts to young women and another who advocates rape and sexual violence, with one who merely posts ungrammatical non sequitur, and another who makes fallacious arguments against feminism, but doesn't seem to attack anyone?

Is guilt by association EVER appropriate? And doesn't it ultimately WEAKEN the credibility of the critic, by trivializing the really negative behavior?

ok so my dream started out as some sort of
school field trip on this weird river/canal at
some scientific testing facility. we were on a
boat and i had a rope tied around my ankle. i
slipped and fell in and was being dragged by the
boat. it didn't hurt or anything but the water
felt .... evil. like there was this black just
surrounding me. we went back to the rest of the
class and i told them but they all just said i was
overreacting. then it repeated 2 more times.
don't know why. then i snuck into the main guys
office at the place and discovered some files
that showed some weird plan for world
domination (cliche... whatever). but it was in a
different way. something about the water. then i
kept sneaking around and found this place
where they were genetically making babies, but
they were evil. and they grew at crazy fast rates
and were like mutated. (btw the main guy who
was like in charge of everything was the guy
who played percy in the green mile. Don't ask

This place is so damned funny since, really, there ain't no gender here except the gender indicated by an odd little picture.

Hypothesis: the use of gender specific avatars significantly influences peoples reactions to the posts made by the avatar's owner.

Is this too bloody obvious? Is this just too ridiculous?

I've been thinking about it and it wouldn't be too difficult to come up with a protocol. Perhaps take several dozens of statements made here (sans avatar and Id) and have people rate them on a Likert scale (strongly disagree ... strongly agree). I'll bet that not knowing the gender of the poster will make it difficult for some people to determine if they agree or disagree and other people will change from "agree" to "disagree" based on gender.

My mom and I rarely get into arguments, which is why I think I'm taking the fight we had week ago, so hard. I woke up this morning worrying about our relationship. I don't know why I keep thinking about it. It's turning me into a wreck. I know she loves me, but why am I feeling uncomfortable around her? I want things the way they used to be where I would feel happy and normal in her presence. How can I achieve this?

My mum started reading all these romance novels, and books such as Jane Eyre and ever since, whenever someone around her says something against women (like as a joke) she snaps at them, when she didnt before!
I think romance novels cause women to become all pro-female.

Can someone tell me why, when a woman is promiscuous, she's condemned and called a "s!ut," but when a man is promiscuous, he's praised and called a "player."

This double standard is unfair and offensive. I think that being promiscuous is wrong for both genders, but why are women singled out and stigmatized whereas men are actually praised for it? It makes no sense.
