This is not a coincidence. Although a lot of people may not believe, demons are actually really. It seems as if those two sticks somehow attracts demons and that is why you both are having bad dreams. I suggest that you guys get rid of the metal sticks immediately without delay, do not keep it in your house any longer.Once you do that it will make a positive difference. If you are still having problems after doing that I suggest that you go to a christian church or a christian friend and ask them to pray with you about it. If you have further concerns let me know and I will try and assist you.

My girlfriend has had the same dreams and her son had a "waking" dream of the same nature, where the demons are laughing at us.
I know in my heart it is true and we unknowingly invite such.
I've lead a rough life of immorality, though to look at me u would not know it.
I am getting baptised soon, due to a growing personal relationship w/ Jesus Christ. Personal, mind u. I let judging of other people's failings to be perfect, keep me away from Jesus for too many decades.
It is always a great addition to a relationship, to seek Jesus together and try to find a strong, teaching church. It doesn't have to be big or small, rich or poor. Try not to judge or make fun, just try to have an open mind. (Often, those proclaiming no Christian faith because they have an "open mind" are the very ones who are judging God by falible people and thus keeping a closed mind).
But the key is, I have strong times of prayer and still have demon "claws" in me. I can tell when I am being blocked from being the loving father and bf and leader to my employees and the kids around my house. It is like I'm just not able to be me, sometimes. So I am getting baptised and continuing my growth. I can tell major changes in everyone around me, when they don't have their clutches in me.
Pray for both of yourselves, asking for forgiveness and angelic protection. Rebuke the demons, in your mind and outloud, Jesus gave us this right and power, but bear in mind that you need to get to know Jesus personally and continue seeking His presence.
It is sometimes hardest for intelligent people, especially in the sciences, to admit there is so much more than meets the eye. On the other hand, it doesn't take many brain cells to understand that we don't know squat, lol.
U have a right and reason to be worried and upset. U may consider having his apt. annointed w/ blessed oil. I have seen it done and when the kids particularly troubled friends came over, lol, they suddenly were not real comfortable inside and stood around out by the street.
Blessings, all is possible w/ the Lord! Now kick em out and live a happy, blessed life.

I'm going to provide you the response that nobody else will. I have an eclectic background. I have a graduate science education from a top university. I was atheistic and highly rational, until some years later, because God was kind enough to do so, I had what we call a "born again" experience, in which I became a Christian.
Over the past couple years, I've been studying deliverance and exorcism. In my observation, people who do things related to divination (including water-witching, qigong, applied kinesiology, dousing, pendulums) become quite afflicted by the demonic, with physical symptoms and various spiritual and emotional problems. What your bf did is called dousing or water-witching, and it is an attempt at communicating with the demonic.
So I'll tell you right now that I think what is happening to you and your bf is real, and I'm terribly sorry for it. I believe there is only one solution, which is twofold: 1. Ask God in the name of Jesus Christ to forgive you and your boyfriend, and to release you from this; 2. Treat these apparitions and all physical signs as intruders or trespassers, and tell them to leave, out loud (quietly is ok, yelling doesn't help). Just say, "Go away forever and leave us alone."
You also need to destroy the dousing rods in some manner. At the very least, you must throw them away. The Bible is very opposed to this kind of practice, and I think now you know why. Please don't fall into the trap of using more witchcraft to combat this event, or you will only dig your pit deeper. There is only one God, and his son is Jesus Christ. Everything else is just an impostor.
I wish you well.

i watch the show Ghost Hunters on Sci Fi. One of the investigators uses those sticks sometimes. They do not make you possessed. All they do is detect paranormal activity. If the sticks touch, something paranormal may be happening. If they don't touch, there is nothing unusual. That's all they are for.
and as for the dreams, the show about the boy and the demons made u think about demons and possession all the time. If u think about something enough, you will have dreams about it. maybe ur bf also believes in it bt doesnt want to admit it. he could be having the dreams too because he thinks about it as much as you do. dont be worrried. ur not gonna be possessed. if u think about other things when u go to bed, u may not have those dreams anymore.

I believe that any strong emotion can bind a person's sense of self to our world. Those are ghosts. I also believe that a reluctance to die or an extreme emotion at the time of death can keep a person close to this world. Those are ghosts. I believe in demons as beings of energy, negative or positive, that exist on another plane of reality but can be forced to come to this world by either circumstance or design. Once here, they behave as both their character and the events of their summoning dictate. }{

All of this stuff is just in your head. As one answerer pointed out, it is the power of suggestion.
Your boyfriend can't sleep since he's mostly likely stressed out. You're having bad dreams since it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The mind can play tricks on you. I thought I was psychic since I was picking up conversations of drug dealers that I believed were after me. It turned they were voices in my head.
There is no empirical evidence that there are demons nor can they possess you. I' ve seen supposed possession during sateria rituals. What it is is nothing more than psycho-cultural behavior. The same stuff you described is similar to what goes on in the Hispanic community with santeria; it's all psychological where you experiences mental and interpreted as magical.
Think about the cause and effect in your and your boyfriend's case. It is more likely stress that your boyfriend is suffering from and sulfilling-prophecy that you are experiencing. The ability to dowse demons is pseudoscience.

Yeah, it sounds like God is letting your boyfriend learn a lesson, so he can see for himself that the demonic realm is real. I studied biology in college too, but I am gifted of God to see demons and people who have them. But your dream is showing you that a demonic spirit is after not only your boyfriend but you. The first sign of demonic possession is a change in behavior for the worst. The only way to get rid of demons is through God. You'll have to find someone who is anointed of God to pray the demon out, because demons will resist and fight.

Total coincidence, and the fact that your brain is tricking you into believing that those sticks are real.
Don't freak out; just take it slowly and reassure yourself that these things aren't possible.
