Why do people say "Oh don't get angry" then they say "Oh you can get angry just don't act on it."

Well which is which? Can you get mad without showing that emotion or without acting on it?

Explain.

I know it means there are 2 ways to look at everything. But after you see both the ways how do you know which is the right way to look at it or to choose.Eg, i now have evaluated a situation and seen both possibilities they are evenly matched every pro has a con.How do you decide which is true and which is false the are both equally convicning and confusing. What would you choose to do?

My husband and I have been married for a little over two years, and we have a daughter who just turned one. Right before I found out I was pregnant, I found a bunch of stuff on our computer that was absolutely disgusting. When I confronted him, he lied right to my face. I have since found it a few more times, each time...lies lies lies. I know he just doesn't want to deal with the repurcussions of his actions, but what do I do? I hate to have my daughter grow up without her father if she doesn't have to, but this is major stuff. I don't trust him, and I have been in denial ever since. I took away our internet (telling him we couldn't afford it) just so I could remain in denial, but it's always in the back of my head. Help!

I had ADHD as a kid but I never took any meds for it because I function very well in most everyday details of life however I am in college again and finding it difficult to focus and not let my mind wonder. What would be a viable solution to this? Would going to a doctor and possibly getting some meds help me focus better without distraction?

making small talk with people? I consider myself to be an intelligent and articulate person but for some reason I am terrible at making small talk with people unless they are family or close friends. Then, if I can't think of anything to say, I feel like an idiot and it probably shows which more than likely makes the other party uncomfortable as well. I have a job where I have to do this alot but I am lousy at it. It has gotten to the point where I feel anxiety creeping up when I know I will be alone with someoene for a few minutes while they are waiting to go in to a meeting. I am an executive assistant and good at everything I do except this. Any advice out there?

I know that they are the only ones who can help themselves...BUT...she has a 6 yr old son, is almost 40, has a habit of managing her time (even working hours) around pick up or eating of fast food, knows that she is at that 'age' where it is now more than detrimental for her life span...etc..etc..
There must be a way above and beyond all the above to prove that it is now not 'embarassement', but 'necessity for her life' that is paramount...The six year old son is starting to speak of his Mom's weight and how she looks different, but really, really loves her as she is so good about Mothering.....Help!!!!

If there is a popular belief out there that most everyone subscribes to, but for some reason the gut feeling inside of you says what the popular belief is not the total truth; how do you find out about the truth and more yet, how do you make people look at your side of the story? At least have them listen to you as a college student?
Scientists go thru this all the time unfortunately, they have the data and the facts but no one pays any attention to it. Look at Al Gore theory about Global Warming, scientists knew it for years but no one was interested and all of a sudden Al Gore comes in and everyone is listening.
