i feel like the girl in taylor swift's "tied together with a smile." i'm falling apart on the inside and no one knows, because on the outside i've still been able to maintain this hard shell.
i don't exactly know what is wrong with me, but quite honestly, this state that i am in scares the living daylights out of me. i feel like i've lost myself. i've become someone else, someone who i don't even know: the person that i used to be no longer exists.
i don't know what to believe in anymore. it's all bull s***.
i feel like i need to do something to get myself back. i feel like my passions are all still inside of me somewhere, but i don't know where to look, or how to go about finding them.
i feel like i'm completely falling apart.
i have become completely devoid of all motivation and drive.
i feel like my world is falling apart and i don't know how to fix it.

My dad tried killing himself today and wouldn't talk to any of us because he was embarrassed. I'm a nanny and I want to visit him tomorrow..my aunt said he would be okay with it. Anyway...the family I nanny for is really self absorbed...I'd have to be in a coffin to get a day off from them. I want to see him tomorrow...I don't even feel like going to work because I am so worried..I just want to see him so I need to come up with a good excuse...I told them what happened today..that all I knew was that he was in the hospital for "psychological reasons"...at least that's what my aunt told me..I finally got the real reason out of her. She's going to see him tomorrow and she said that he would be willing to see me. I don't know if I should tell my boss that...she totally freaks out when I'm not there..even though she doesn't work...she just doesn't want to watch her kid. I want to call her now but it's midnight so I have to wait till morning. I'm really stressed and don't know what to do.

I have noticed that I sometimes get anxious when I have many options to choose from (usually with major life choices). If I make one choice, I get anxious thinking that I should have chosen one of the other many other options. So sometimes the only way I can live with myself is to convince myself that I really don't like the options that I rejected. This makes me feel better about the choice I made. If I don't do this, then whenever I am acting on the choice that i did make, I feel like I should be doing something else.
I also sometimes impair myself. For example, I might try to sabotage myself in some area or purposely limit myself so then I can justify to myself why I am not doing that particular thing.
I am dysfunctional if I don't do these things. I only feel okay devoting myself to one thing if I have somehow justified to myself why I am not doing something else.

Avoiding Kids: How Men Cope
With Being Cast as Predators
September 6, 2007; Page D1
These days, if Rian Romoli accidentally bumps into a child, he quickly raises his hands above his shoulders. "I don't want to give even the slightest indication that any inadvertent touching occurred," says Mr. Romoli, an economist in La Cañada Flintridge, Calif.

Ted Wallis, a doctor in Austin, Texas, recently came upon a lost child in tears in a mall. His first instinct was to help, but he feared people might consider him a predator. He walked away. "Being male," he explains, "I am guilty until proven innocent."

In San Diego, retiree Ralph Castro says he won't allow himself to be alone with a child -- even in an elevator.

Yesterday I went to Half Price books on Capitol Hill here in Seattle. I thought I would read the GRAPES OF WRATH
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grapes_of_Wrath
Haven't read it in 29 years.
(Another coincidence...I was reading Grapes of Wrath when John Steinbeck Died(Dec 20, 1968))
Bought a copy.
I don't listen to Radio very much at all these days.
About an hour ago I was driving into Georgetown from West Seattle.
Scanning through radio stations I hear Woody Guthrie

on KEXP

im just curious to knwo if i am skimping too much or maybe even spending more then i need to, i give myself 100 dolers a month for grocerys and my girlfriend puts in 100 per month as well, it doesnt seem to come out quite enough but maybe we should try shopping smarter? we have been cooking more lately rather then buying so much pre-prepared type stuff and that seems to be making things WORSE as we are having to by so many different ingrediants but i am hopeing that once we get enough of that kinda crap stired up (spices and whatnot) that it will actually be cheaper to cook meals from scratch.....? i would appreciate your thoughts on this.

You had the Black Panthers and the SDS, and both groups were heavily armed. Feminists supported both groups. How could feminists not utter a word of criticism of MEN who are armed to the teeth? Does leftist politics really trump all else?

First, let me say that I would never have supposed otherwise until today. In fact, one of the main reasons I have some sympathy for the feminist movement is that I frequently see my sisters (literally and figuratively) degraded by men of both races and see to many of my brothers failing to speak out against it.

But, in the course of comparing the struggle for racial equality with the struggle for sexual equality, a white feminist pointed to the Don Imus case as an example of racism being taken more seriously than sexism:

"Nearly 6 months ago shock jock Don Imus was abruptly fired from CBS for making a racial slur during public broadcast, and scorned by nearly every national media circut."

I was dismayed at her choice of THIS example. The young people he attacked were women as well as black. And the slurs against them were sexist ("hoes") as well as racist ("nappy-headed"), but apparently she thinks this is just an issue of race.

So you can control yourself to the point of being able to control your emotions and what comes out of your mouth.

For example when someone's not listening to you and they're harassing you and you've been in a habit of YELLING so loud people shut up and listen. But most of the time you're not mad you're acting that way so they'd listen to you.

Or if you mess up or drop something you cuss without thinking.

How do you master the art of self control so the above problems will go away?
