Norman Rockwell was a good "painter" but it ends there. "Pretty Woman" was "well-made", but it ends there. We tell our children cute little stories and read them fairy tales and tell them there is a Santa Claus, and why? So they can someday find out its all BS? What good does it do them to live in a dream world? Why not give them love and be honest? Norman Rockwell had this vision of a goody-good world that NEVER existed. Sure, we all want a good world to live in, a peaceful and tolerant and loving world, but you have to come at it from a realistic place. Our whole existence in America seems to thrive on excess, on "feel-good", on fantasy and diversion. I am not saying we need to be cruel or cold. Can't we see things for what they are and still feel good, enjoy ourselves and one another?

This is my question I want under social.A question so far not replied by parents but by mafia authorities at politics and those handfuls programmed for selfish gains.Such parents are becoming too jealous of others' kids forgetting at socialization one day when all grown ups mingle to build their society. It is said to be a curse by the elite who are funded not to talk out their opinions in public. How long could parents be hidden from the acid truth-when the social becomes so dirty as not to be containable? What you expect from a child who has been robbed of its base for a jump in life? That base is how to use his brains and so develop his mental .Why teachers should talk all the way and the kids be distracted-to be on their own to create whatnot and get punished .Why not reverse the situation
And let the pupils talk on some guidance? Why spend so much by peoples' taxes on a system rotting at the base itself? What is that legacy politicians leave behind. One said three times EDUCATION.

About three months ago I had a very vivid dream.

In it, I remember the setting as somewhere on the West Coast, around 12 PM. I had a strong feeling that I was in my twenties and was driving to work, and all of the radio stations were talking about how dark it was outside. Indeed, the day had an orange tint to it, like what you would see later in the day as the sun began to set.

Later the dream flash-forwarded to a lake, where people were gathered to watch an eclipse. The sun was glowing red when the moon first began the eclipse; as it slowly moved out of it's way the sun looked dead. It was a black mass with purple flames.

Anyone got a clue what this could mean?

For me ,sometimes it is just the way that kids are..with their parents..and usually when they are small..and or how they tumble or toddle! Very cute! I Love to see them learning all of the time...it kind of makes my day! LOL!

just innocent and the usual types of stuff...semi-innocent things like a guy trying his darndest to impress a girl.. or vice a versa...Life lessons..ya know?! Things I have either gone thru..or have notices other's have!! LOL! It is a reminder of days gone by, and still happening for me...I think that's why!

what about you all? and why?

thanks!

Do you feel that the internet has drawn us closer or made us more isolated from each other? Is it socially healthy to spend much of our time communicating on the internet? Is the internet a true means of communication or does it provide an artificial boundary from those with whom we communicate?

I think buying CC's is kind of lame; it makes sense on a company scale because you dont want massive pollution. However, as Time criticizes, it's a strange way to buy your way out of guilt.

Buying CC's as charity also doesn't fit well in economics, since people are not forced to buy them. Your "donation" could mainly end up going into the pockets of a company. Is not it better to donate to help the poor?

Also, trees can sometimes trap in heat, and have their own set of problems. I dont see how buying CC's will solve our pollution problem.

Did "Logan's Run" have the right idea?

I regard you all as logically/mathematically impaired and somewhat substandard in the validity of your academic persuits ...I believe that anybody majoring in ex. Political science, History, Art, especially psychology etc are inferior to people taking engineering or sciences.

Sometimes I get really angry when I look at a humanities major and I wish I could voice me opinion and occasionally -when I see a psychology student - I want to stomp on them --I'm not making this up -it's a serious question here.

My question is: How do I overcome this prejiduce ?

This is for one of my classes, which is called “American Culture”. My homework consists in asking American people to answer the following. The purpose is to understand how Americans think. Just write whatever comes to your mind first. (It would be awesome if you guys could tell me your name, age, sex and the place where you live, however that is only optional).
1- Americans are:________
2- They like:_____
3-They don’t really:_____
4- Most Americans feel:______
5-They act:__________
6- Most Americans believe in:_____
7- The U.S. is a country where:___
8- The average American is:_____
9- Americans today are worried about:_
10- The most important thing in life to most Americans is:___
-- I know that many of the sentences can sound very vague and many things could fit. Just write whatever you think describes Americans best. Thank you, all!

I found out about the case involving the murder of a pregnant woman (Jessie Davis) and her 9 month old fetus. The alleged participants were her boyfriend Bobby Cutts and a friend of his.

If these people did it, then why would someone do something so cruel as to kill another innocent human being? What did the pregnant woman do anything to deserve being killed by someone she trusted?

Are there any criminology experts or criminal justice majors that can help shed light on this?
