They just complain about how things are "these days", too stupid to realise that they're just nostalgic for their youth.

Did "Logan's Run" have the right idea?

Fredrik, I trust you will remember this question when you are at an age that you are considered "old" and some young whippersnapper thinks you are useless.
Age gives wisdom, shows the way, mentors, puts things in place for the next generation. Wait till you are old and the youth of your generation do things you think are crazy...I am presuming you are not around older people that you respect. Perhaps you should start there and see what you can learn.
Not all old people are nice but not all young people are nice either , so take a good look at yourself as you age you become what you are when you are young......In your case I would worry...

No, they are actually good to society.
Case in Point: A family friend's father passed away at 77 this past year. Before this, he devoted his time to taking care of his wife, who was only slightly younger and suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. Even after his wife passed on, he continued to volunteer at both the Nursing Home and the Masonic Lodge. He was hardly what I'd call nostalgic.

Ah the lack of wisdom in the young. It will be poetic justice when you reach a ripe old age. And never doubt it, you will. Your attitude will change then. They aren't too stupid to realize they are nostalgic for their youth, it simply amuses them to see the reactions of the immature.

I am transportation director for a non-profit that takes care of the elderly. These are some very fine people. What kind of old person do you want to be? Oh sure say a dead one. I hope you grow very old and understand the error of your thinking.

I don't know what "Logan's run" is, but I think that Plato may have been on to something when he said we should kill all handicapped people, and old people once they become too old to contribute to society. At least it would ease traffic alot. Ever been stuck behind an old person on the freeway?

They have wisdom beyond your years. They offer comfort and emotional support. And I am sure that life experience has taught them to stay away from the likes of you!

With that attitude, you would be lucky to reach old age. Be careful... someday a smart *** that hasn't even been born yet will see your old butt and deem you worthless! What goes around, comes around.

OR...What purpose do you serve?
I wonder, what choice would your mother make if birth control decisions could be made retroactive?

Old people are good to inherit money from. Other than that, they just take up space.
