i have cbt psychotherapy for depression. I feel low/irritable alot of the time. Why do psychologists somehow personalise this depression/anger - and become unhelpful/grumpy back - rather than realising this is the illness /problem. They expect depressed/anxious people to be all bright and cheery before they are willing to help in my experience. A true paradox!!!!

Who stated this in the first place? What research is there to back this up? Do they mean only 10% at any one time because I'm sure using alot more would cause some sort of epileptic fit. Surely 90% doesn't do nothing at all.

I have a theory of sadism: the emotion that makes one find pleasure in inflicting pain or watching people suffer. What do you think? People who are sadistic verbally or physically are that way because they are very miserable with their lives. If they see someone content with their life, it infuriates them because they say to themselves, "What right does that person have in feeling good when I feel so bad?" So when the other person DOES feel bad, it gives them pleasure because in their mind they are thinking something like, "Good! Now you know what it feels like to be miserable like me!"

anytime when its dark, I'm scared, I sleep with a small light on. I feel safe if the blanket is completely covering me. but if my leg is out and its dark while sleeping, then I'm affraid that crocodile will eat it (childhood thing). some evening I went out to gather some clovers for my guinea pigs and I had a flashlight, but I was always scared of all dark places and corners around me. if there was a little bit of light from near industrial site, I felt safe, otherwise I was scared. I was scared if I aimed the flash light away from where I was standing.

in the night I cant go from one room to another without a light on. example from kitchen to living room: light is on in the kitchen, then I turn on the light in the corridor, then I turn off in the kitchen, then I turn on in the living room and then I go back to the corridor to turn the light off.

and I'm 19 years old male.

And it's strange that I use the word beautiful, because I wouldn't normally associate it with snakes.

Within the dream, the snake shed its skin and I later wrapped up the snake in plastic (almost like when you buy vaccum packed mackerel) to keep it still and kissed it. I had to keep checking that it was still alive (I'd watch for the movement of its tongue), and yet I was scared that it would spring out of the plastic.

I've looked at Freudian and Jungian interpretations for the dream.

What would your interpretation be? Give me some insight, please!

Years ago I used to LSD but I have not taken any for twenty years or more, but still sometimes I wake up and feel like I`m at Glastonbury. I can`t even tell my slippers from my slappers until I`ve had a cup of coffee.

How do you feel about homeless people and those living in poverty? Do you feel they were put in that place or put themselves in that place?
Personally, I think it is ridiculous because there is no excuse to live like that with the opportunities that are given to them.

Believers do good things as they are scared of judgement day and think they will get a great afterlife (ahem). This means that believers are only good natured because they feel it is in their own interests. I find this very selfish, they even admit that 'they are accountable' to god and atheists are not, proving their moral motives. What do you think?

Why do people bother to answer questions when the poster clearly knows they're being rude and inappropriate (like racist, sexist, otherwise ridiculous questions) rather than just ignoring them and letting them expire unanswered? Why waste time trying to explain how retarded they are?

And all of a sudden something entered my home and it was like a light like that from a light house and it was making its way to my room and I was scared because I didn't know what it was or what was taken place. I pulled the cover over my head as it entered my room I tried to keep still but I was shaking like I was in HELL and start breathing loud and gave myself away and it shined thru the cover and pulled it back. Then the light turned into a woman with silver-gray hair in a long skirt and didn't shine that much only enough to where it didn't scare me in an old school blouse on. Next thing I know the woman was setting on the side of my bed and now I'm next to her. She start talking to me without saying a word and it was like she scan or x-rayed my body where when I looked at myself I saw my bones as a doc would see it then I was normal then my forarms got big I saw all of my veins then back 2 same.Iasked 4finance2 increase and she leftIlooked out d window all d cars was on top ofwall

My friend has been diagnosed with several mental disorders, the main one being borderline personality disorder. She had a terrifying paranormal experience as a child. Well, lately, she's been having dreams about people dying....and usually, it's me. She says she's had dreams about people dying before, and she's been right twice.....and I don't think she would lie to me about that. So, I have several questions.

1. Do you know of any disorders that have anything like this as part of the symptoms?

2. Do you think she could be right about this?

3. Do you have anything comforting to say? I'm scared out of my mind at the moment.

Recently we were invited to a friend's house. Their backyard pool is very private, but we were a little surprised when their kids (teens - two girls and a boy) simply peeled off their clothes and swam nude. They were obviously raised this way and thought nothing of it, but their parents didn't seem at all concerned that guests (us) were present. We didn't say a thing -- should we have? If so, what?

Don't get the impression that we disapproved -- we thought it was sweet and innocent; the kids were beautiful and without a hint of false modesty, yet very respectful to us. We were really surprised though, not just at the naked kids but about how well they got along with each other in a very intimate setting.
