Yep, and I need to get rid of a lot of the anger I have. I am still grateful for what I have though. It's difficult to let something go when it harmed you so much.
The people that are able to throw away the past will eventually have issues.

The first time I ever experienced death, and was able to comprehend it, was at the loss of my grandfather. I remember the night vividly; the shrill of the phone--it's very high pitched, but it simply sounded wrong. I never understood why. I was celebrating my birthday that night. Then, I sat at the dining table, and listened to my mother's sobs flowing from the kitchen, where she'd answered the phone. I remember staring at my ice cream sundae, and thinking, "things will never be the same."

I made one mistake in my life. Instead of going to new York City to go to college, and having four years in the worlds' greatest city, the chance to find contacts, hear plays, go to museums, etc., I went to California from Long Island--to escape my dysfunctional family...
It was a mistake--the only one I've ever made that counted.

Yeah. Everytime I see an algebraic equation, I cringe, blank out, and think of my 8th grade year of Algebra I.
...The horrible memories. D:
