My friend has been diagnosed with several mental disorders, the main one being borderline personality disorder. She had a terrifying paranormal experience as a child. Well, lately, she's been having dreams about people dying....and usually, it's me. She says she's had dreams about people dying before, and she's been right twice.....and I don't think she would lie to me about that. So, I have several questions.

1. Do you know of any disorders that have anything like this as part of the symptoms?

2. Do you think she could be right about this?

3. Do you have anything comforting to say? I'm scared out of my mind at the moment.

Paranormal experiences are not disorders. These are people with enhanced sensitivity to more than the "normal" population. I wish I could comfort you, but she may be right. Maybe not. The only thing I can say to you is that dying is not the worst thing that can happen.

First of all, I don't think that a having a paranormal experience has anything to do with having a mental disorder. And the fact that this person has dreamed of you dying doesn't mean you will. It probably just means that you are an important person in her life and she is possibly having feelings of abandonment or wondering how she will cope in the event she loses your friendship. The fact that coincidentally she has had dreams where people passed away who actually did is probably just that: a coincidence. Try not to worry. :)

If your friend has been diagnosed with mental disorders, consider the possiblity that she is manipulating you with this dream claim.

Dreams usually have a more spiritual meaning that literal. Death in dreams usually means big change like major shifts in perception. We die to a life of perceiving a certain way only to be reborn into a life of new and different perception. The dream could mean that your friend fears losing you. Therefore, to her you die. Try not to worry about you. It's her dream. And remember the manipulating mentally disordered people are highly prone to. Don't be the sail in her wind.

I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder years ago and all it means is we are terrified of being abandoned and will go to great lengths to hold on to people we feel will abandon us, ..it possibly came from being abandoned by my father when my parents divorced.........ive never heard of any special powers or anything like that.......i am a woman though and women are very intuitive and sometimes we just get feelings about things...sometimes we are right sometimes not...........
