I care way too much what impression I leave on people.

For example, the way I say goodbye to someone or the way I say hi to someone. It leaves me thinking about it for a long time after it happens. I know it doesn't matter at all to that person, but for some reason I think that it really does matter. That person does really judge how you act, and I don't wanna do something to make someone not like me.

I fear rejection, so I have trouble connecting with females. And the ones I do connect with I'm too afraid to actually ask if they wanted to hang out or go on a date.

Even on facebook, or MSN. I don't make very many comments or talk to people that much.

I suck! Is anyone else like this, or was not very socially confident? And how did you overcome it?

Let's call him Bill. He's a neutral party; No close friends, and at the same time, no enemies. Bill is our manager's assistant. He's married to a CEO. He has crowed about how much his wife makes to other male coworkers and has painted them a pretty picture of how it is to have a "sugar mama" in the house. Well, about a week ago, he found out that his CEO wife was cheating on him.

Suddenly, company luncheons turned strange. Bill would seat himself between me and the only 2 other females from the department. He'd "forget" his wallet and when one of us picked up the tab, he'd practically purr, "man, you're so good to me."

For the rest of the day, he would hang around our desks, putting himself down (digging for compliments). His manager has caught onto this and reprimanded him. He has hinted that he tells his wife that 3 other "attractive" women in the office care for and take him to lunch.

Has this happened to anyone? Cut ties? Ignore him? (Note:he IS in therapy)

Recently I've really come to like a man I've known for about 6 weeks, but he doesn't feel the same way and has made it very clear that we don't have a shot at being together. I know in my head that I should be lucky to just have him as a friend and move on, but it's so rare that I find someone like him where I just feel instantly comfortable and happy. What can I do to get myself to stop dwelling on this and feeling like he doesn't like me because I'm just not good enough for him? I know that's not true in reality but I can't help thinking that way. What are some ways I can stop thinking about him and get on with my life? I want to continue to be friends, but how can I get past these feelings I have for him?

Im a post grad psych student, i've been living in a new area for 4 months. for the last couple of months i have been feeling realy overwhelmed by the work load and the loss of support due to the relocation, to such an extent that at times it just really really get to much for me to handle, that at times i have suicidal thoughts a;though i have the skills to talk myself out of doing something stupid - (for now at least). is it just the stress of the work and the home sickness?do you think i should go and see a psychologist about it, and would it have an impact on my future career if i did?

I just recently got a new/used car, new to me. I work full time and treated myself to a few year old BMW. My mom asked what other cars I was considering and I told her. My mom has always been lazy and manipulative and uses anything to manipulate me. Well onto the good part, mom emailed me and asked me to look up information on all of the cars on the list for her, BUT one year newer than I got. She has no job by choice but has a husband who works who will probably buy it for her. BUT she wants me to do reseach for her? I take pride in the fact that I work and can buy myself nice things, she takes pride in the fact that she can get nice things without working. Must she rub it in my face? To me thats just mean and non mother like. What do you think?

The current gender-biased laws promote girls to lie about rape. Lying about rape is equivalent to murder. But when a girl is discovered to have lied about being raped, NOTHING happens to her!!

Cathie Fordham lied about being raped and sexually assaulted more than 55 times and one of her male victims spent more than 3 years in prison, where he was GANG raped repeatedly. Although she has done it more than 55 times, nothing happens to her.

Girls who make false claims of rape or sexual assualt should have their pictures, address, and all information to find her, be posted on the internet data base, every post office, and every bar so men will be protected from such sick men-hating feminists.

Laws must be changed to protect men from these sick sex predators! These sick feminist sex predators are worse than girls who prey on little boys.

This coming Friday is the last session with my counseling psychologist. She has helped me so much this semester at college and I want to pay back her kindness.
But I am worried she wouldn't accept any gifts because of the ethics procotol as a psychologist.
Do you guys have any good idea for gifts that might be suitable for her without her refusing it? I really want to pay back her generosity deeply.

I'm 16 and in garde 10. I know this is a strange one but I wondered. I mean, when you daydream or fantasize, it doesn't feel real or like you really are there but when you dream at night, it feels really real and you think you're actually there. But if there's something you want to do or someplace where you want to be at and you can't and you only want to dream about it. I thought that there was some way to make you stop or start dreaming of something but I don't know. The answer probably is you cannot make yourself dream of something you want to dream about it but I wanted to ask anyway.

What makes adults look at children as potential sex objects/partners? Are pedophiles attracted exclusively to kids, or do they also like adults?

Can they be successfully treated? (I ask this last question because they are usually "branded" for life, which makes me think that whatever treatment there is for them may not have a very good success rate.)
