We won't be free as long as someone has to fight for our freedom, which means that we won't be truly free until everyone on our planet has enough, rather than a few people having way more than what they need. And I honestly think, after studying cross-cultural biological tendencies, that this fighting/freedom stuff is primarily male genetics/biology that is going to lead us to extinction unless we teach ourselves to put our energies elsewhere.

Actually no. It would not be funny at all.

It would mean that a lot of people have died for no reason.

I hate to tell you but the reality is that people can and will take your freedom away in the blink of an eye in every part of the globe if given a chance and if people do not fight back against ignorance and repression on a daily basis, not just with weapons but with the tools of a civilized society.

With education, awareness, law, activism and a free and uncorrupted press and government. Even these tools themselves have to be fought for.

The weapons are a last resort when dealing with people who will not leave you alone otherwise.

This is a fundamental reality proven throughout human history. As soon as you are helpless against predatory people you are no longer free.

It's is only people who have the luxury of not knowing how easy it is to lose their freedom that start to take it for granted.

That luxury that has been provided by the hard work, sacrifice and wisdom of so many others they have no awareness and understanding of.

I'd suggest you study history as well as get out and experience the real world for a while.

Try reading Thomas Jefferson and John Q. Adams for starters.

Here's a small example, ever have to deal with a bully?

As far as I know we are free. Those freedoms did not come easily however and we should never take them for granted. So many people seek to justify anything a bad administration does by waving the flag, speaking of God, mama and apple pie. Family values and morality and all the while lying to the public. Freedom is not free. I would hope that soon our military will be home from Iraq and this horrific war would be over. It should never have started. Moreso than the terrorists, I worry about the freedoms we have the potential to lose via the Patriot Act. These rights that we signed away so quickly because of fear were things our forefathers died to obtain for us. What I fear most is the Bush administration because they are not only incompetent but corrupt as well.

Lol. As a soldier who's been to Iraq, I always wondered why people think that I fought for thier freedom? We're fighting for the Iraqi's freedom right now. Unless you count freedom from terrorism? In which case you should thank the FBI, Coast Guard, Airport security, and the Police.

I can assure you that if there were no one willing fight for freedom, there would be no shortage of people willing to fight to enslave.
