most of my dreams are about the ocean or at least a tidal wave and in all but one the ocean is bad. Either it destories everything or there's a seamonster that is trying to pull me or others in. And in most of the these dreams the ocean or tidal wave will kill everyone and I'll be the only one left. can anyone tell me what it might mean?

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position which argues that the world, especially past and current human existence, is without objective meaning, purpose, comprehensible truth, or essential value. Nihilists generally assert some or all of the following: there is no reasonable proof of the existence of a higher ruler or creator, a "true morality" is unknown, and secular ethics are impossible; therefore, life has no truth, and no action can be preferable to any other.

For some, suicide is a solution when confronted with the futility of living a life devoid of all purpose, because ending life seems a rational reaction to its absurdity. If consciousness is extinguished, the interaction between mind and absurdity does not exist anymore. Since life must end in death, which itself gives no meaning to life, suicide is only a means to quicken the resolution of one's ultimate fate.

Would this be a good choice for me? Why or why not? Thanks!

Do you think if a woman wears something revealing, that she sets herself up for rape or any other kind sexual harrassment? Why should she be responsible for another mans reaction? Why can he not be responsible? For his reaction. Our mothers have always told us to keep covered and don't be a "stubbling block for men". When will become more resposible for their actions? I or any other woman should not have to be afraid to walk down the street, wether fully clothe or half naked, with out worrying about being rape or assaulted by man.

can the FDA a government agency do away with our freedom of religion, our freedom to meditate how we want to, our freedom to write what we want to, our freedom to give each other a message, our freedom to do what we want to with our own groups, our freedom to use vitamins and supplements and grow herbs and use them in food the way that we want to, our freedom to recreation, our sexual freedoms, our freedom to think, believe, feel, live like we want to?

Yes they can, all they have to do since "half" of our country is now labeled "mentally ill" is say that it is good for us and it is an "alternative treatment" and they can control it.

Is that what we want, do you want these things forced on you if it is not what you want? What do you think about this?

Am I going overboard, or can this happen in America? How will this affect other countries? Ever read any Orwell? Just putting out a feeler here, should we try to stop it before it happens this way?

People on this site have been so kind to me. I try to help others with their depression and anxiety but have been unsuccessful at helping myself. It helps me so much to know that someone out there heres me and might understand what it feels like to be completely alone. I'm looking for encouraging words to handle my severe depression. I would appreciate any words of wisdom to get me through another night alone here. I have thoughts of suicide, but would never make a plan to do it, so no worries there. I just wish I knew how to stop feeling such pain inside. I know that I need professional help but cannot afford a doctor and the state of Tennessee offers me nothing in the way of free support. I have no money and no on that I know can help me. I would love information on a website that offers volunteer therapy from a professional psychologist, but I know that that is unrealistic. Please help with any kind words you can take the time to spare. I would appreciate it so much.

With college getting more competitive, don't you think the last thing we need is sexism? If a man and a woman both apply for a scholarship, the woman has a better chance of getting it and going to school. Women's rights activists fight for EQUAL rights, not the advancement of women over men. Do you think that the government should stop this and let men and women finally have equal rights.

Growing up we all sang Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.

Our country was founded on the principle of free speech. We preach tolerance but the entire concept of political correctness, and the sense that some "words", some "phrases" and some speech is just so inflammatory, so insulting, and so hurtful, and it should be censored.

But, they are just words, aren't they?

If directed at someone who does not understand the language they are delivered in, they are just sounds with no meanings.

They are not physical attacks. Being punched, kicked, stabbed, or shot results in tangible injury. How can words to that?

Are we too hypersensitive over words and their impact?

Can words really hurt someone? How?
