Social Science - 3 April 2007

I have been getting all a's and b's now. By 3 c's i mean two in one marking period and one in the other. What kind of colleges could I go to? I know that only grades do not matter, but what else can i do to increase my chances of going to a good college?

I was trying to arrange a weekend away with my friends and there was lots of planning involved. But when I asked for the day off work, my boss said it wasn't possible. Even though she said it in a nice way, I got upset and couldn't stop myself from crying. I felt really overwhelmed by the whole situation.

Am I losing it?

I have exams coming up and I've been told that people who think more positive thoughts tend to do better?? I get particulary stressed by exams and heavy workloads as I'm sure a lot of people do.......I'm just interested in knowing how something so simple could have an effect??

It is hard to know people just by the way they write. For some (like myself) English is not their first language, others could be very young or having less writing skills, still others perhaps are Academics and are more familiar with the written word.

This makes no sense to me! Something is seriously WRONG with our system, if it is that much cheaper to import wheat from China (or anywhere else) when we grow SO much of it here! Why is the government making it so easy on them to import to us, yet what do they buy from us? From what I have heard, nothing, because they want to support their own economy - so why don't we? Is this just all due to politics? This has really come to light in my eyes since the pet food recall recently.

We met senior year of college and have been together for over a year. We live in different cities (100 miles apart) and see each other 2-3 times per month.Recently our true differences have been coming out. She is very logical, fact based, plans a lot, needs stuff to make sense. I am "feeling based", trust my gut instinct, happiness-driven, in the moment type of person. At first we seemed to complement each other, but now we have been fighting, especially over issues like money (she nickel and dimes everything and gets mad when she has to remind me to pay her back)(i think it all comes back in the long run) and thinks I am immature with leaving stuff out, toilet seat up, dishes in sink etc.We seem to have a strong bond for us to have stayed together this long, but is it too much of a sacrifice to deal with such different personalities? Am I being unfair to not change some of my ways?What is the best route to take here?Take a break to realize what we truly have? Beginning to be unhappy.
