Penny,
not necessarily. An "outcome" requires and "output", if positive thinking is the "output" then there is not often a direct link (or correlation) to the "outcome". For example, "thinking positive" on the "outcome" of an interview is a good thing for most people. But "thinking positive" about the interview does not provide the "outcome" of being hired. As we know the "outcome" of a job interview is based on many things during the interface between the prospective employer and prospective employee. This is one of many examples kept short for your ease of read.
So too, positive thinking can help you prepare for the exam, but essentially your answers hinder on your knowledge of the subject matter - not whether you are a "positive thinker" about the exam - still maintaining an air of optimism is better than maintaining a negative stance.
However, "positive thinking" by most standards is not a bad thing and only helps a person strive for something better. There are many positive things that occur even when the result or "outcome" is negative.
Hope this helps - stay focused!

Positive thinking + Positive energy = Positive outcomes. The reason I say this equation is because positive thinking sends your messages to the universe, to God, and his Heavenly Hosts where they hear what you're asking. Then when they hear you, the energy you have around you from their presence will give you a positive outlook on how others receive you; walk around with a smile on your face, a jip in your step, and treat everyone pleasantly no matter how they treat you back - all while thinking positively. Add two and two together with this theory and positive outcomes will not only allow you to pass your exams but achieve more in life, love, and so much more. BTW: God, the Heavenly Hosts, and the Universe will know when you're faking all based on your thoughts, so throw all the negativity away throughout those days. ~ Good Luck on everything!

It's all how you look at the situation. There is a theory called the law of attraction & it suggests that one should never dwell on the negative, as the "metaphysical principle of life" is embodied in a "law of attraction": "you get what you think about; your thoughts determine your destiny."[1] (Wikipedia)
From what I've read though, it doesn't just start & stop with positive thinking. You must see & feel that the outcome will be as you desire. Think & feel about what you want (vs. what you don't want). But nothing is magic - you need to take the action (study) & then imagine the positive outcome. Good luck!

Positive thinking is good but it is also important 2 take action. In your case perhaps study alittle more, I no it is hard due 2 stress, but once u study and do the best u can, what is left 4 u 2 do. Always think positive and give it your best, They say if u think negative than negative forces will find u. Good luck on your exams, I'll help think positive with u.

The Secret is not a secret. Positive thinking certainly can produce positive outcomes...but it depends on what outcomes you want. If you want a good grade, you can "think you can" all you want, but if you haven't studied, you're going to fail.
On the other hand, if you're simply trying to cope with a situation, then positive thinking can help you to get motivated to action.
So my advice would be to think positive to get yourself going, and then use that energy and optimism to get crackin' on the tasks you have to accomplish.

I do think that positive thinking and positive affirmations are very helpful. It may not make you make an A on your exam, but if you feel more positive and believe in yourself , I would guarantee, you'll do better than you would otherwise. Good luck.

Positive thinking will allow you to do better than negative thinking will.
Positive thoughts + positive actions = positive results.
Just study well, and relax. It's a test, but it's not the end of the world. : )

not always..I always try to stay bright about things and sh*t keeps happening.
So, just cuz your happy doesn't mean you will have to best of luck.
But it does mean that you can get back up again.
And of course your stressed about exams, that is part of it and will always be the entire time you are in school.
Just study hard and know it.
