This makes no sense to me! Something is seriously WRONG with our system, if it is that much cheaper to import wheat from China (or anywhere else) when we grow SO much of it here! Why is the government making it so easy on them to import to us, yet what do they buy from us? From what I have heard, nothing, because they want to support their own economy - so why don't we? Is this just all due to politics? This has really come to light in my eyes since the pet food recall recently.

If this makes you mad , find out which politician favor giving China "most favored nation " trade protection. Killing our beloved kittens and puppies may just be the tip of the iceburg.

When other countries sell something that they can make cheaper than us it benefits us because we then don't have to pay as much for goods...we then turn around and use these extra resources to further ourselves and make more of what we are good at, such as computers and technology...what do you think makes more money for us wheat or computers?

What a misinformed person you are... The U.S. is a large net exporter of wheat. In 2006, the U.S. imported about $2.2 billion worth of all grains (including feed) and exported $4.3 billion worth of wheat alone (and $8.3 billion worth of corn, and $1.4 billion worth of rice, and a whole bunch of other stuff):

As to your assertion that "they buy nothing from us", it is simply not true. The whole world (including China) runs computers with Intel chips in them, flies Boeing airplanes, and downs Viagra...
