buy a slave so that no other family could buy him/her, and you would treat him/her like any other person, etc... so that you would be protecting them? Or would you just stay out of the whole thing?

Okay, there is this hall monitor guy at my high school. Every time I walk past him, he always stares at me (I see him do it out of the corner of my eye). I am really, really grossed out because this guy is forty-some odd years old. Am I being paranoid? What should I do because it is really really bugging me? I don't want to tell a different teacher or something because they might think that I was just overreacting or something. What should I do?? Please, any serious suggestions would help!

I'm 21 year old male in college, just wondering what others do to motivate themselves in their lives.

And for people who don't have trouble being motivated, are you able to objectively analyze why that is?

Last night, I dreamed I was a prince on a white horse, galloping through an enchanted forest protected by a witch's magic. I met the witch's fair daughter and we instantly fell in love. We rode out of the forest, with the witch hot on our heels. But as long as I had my horse, we were unharmed by the witch's magic. It was a long chase. Suddenly, my horse sprouted wings and took off, taking us high up into the sky. Just when we thought we had outsmarted the witch, a thunderbolt struck us, injuring my horse's wing. We fell to the earth, and she snatched my lady-love from me. I searched for her frantically and battled the witch to the death. When she saw that I was losing my foothold, my lady-love intervened for me and she was killed by the witch. She died for me. Then, along came my horse. She lay down beside my lady-love and she talked, telling me to cut open her chest and take her heart which I did. When she died, my lady-love came back to life. And right beside her was an enchantress

Would people be able to make themselves sleep every two days? I know that its sort of 'built in' to us to sleep ever night, but is that just because of doing it for thousands of years? Are we able to go against our bodies norm's and make new norm's for ourselves?

i asked a question involving a single incident that had extenuating circumstances where the wife did not immediately want to have sex (middle of the night, having a nightmare) but the husband, whether or not he heard her protests (he may have been sleeping), continued without her consent.

i got some fairly disturbing answers....
why do people think that a wife cannot decline sex w/ her husband? doesn't this imply that she is property & must bend to his will, regardless of of her wishes or emotional well-being? what do you think of these attitudes & responses?
[quotes to be added]

(please be nice! thanks)

So I'm writing a psychology paper on "evil". Going through the lists of the most evil people who have ever lived, they were serial killers in their own right. Some of these people murdered only 140 people, others murdered 20 million. Why do people kill? Is it power? Greed? Does it get them off? Why?

Have you ever watched a Jerry Springer show and said..."whew, now I don't feel so bad, because I am not THAT f-ed up"...

same ruse they use to "empower" todays "woman"...in advertising, make your boyfriend/husband look stupid...and VOILA...I feel BETTER, and where is my emotional punching bag now...

...he dumped YOU because you swallowed the lies, and became an incessant complainer of what you DON'T have instead of being content with what you DO have. It's keeping up with the Jones notched up a few thousand degrees.

But it sure "empowers" woman to get out to those "sales" and fill the coffers of those who played you for a fool.

If there are no jobs available and massive poverty and corruption in their homecountry and most developed countries have tight immigration restrictions on the rationale of limited resources and that it would take jobs away from their own people. Do 1st world countries have some sort of a moral responsibility to these 3rd world countries even if they did not make them suffer?
