i had something my dad used to call ''nightfright'' when i was small (9-11) . basically as soon as i closed my eyes everything stated spinning and it felt as if my bed was shaking, but as soon as i opened my eyes it would stop. i could only sleep if i was downstairs with my parents, or if i had a tv or radio in my room to concentrate on the sound.
i am now 19 and was thinking about this last night, has anyone got any info/linkswhere i can read up on this? or anyone had this who would like to speak about their experiance with it?

I dont kno which religion to believe, if its ok to not believe in ONE but hav a faith in a supreme power, i dont kno what is ok and what is not and its driving me crazy. im confused, i read stuff that say give me the impression that christianity and that stuff(like Jesus)is evil and christianity says everything else is. i am very confused and dont know what to believe.

if you are just going to come and preach what has been taught to you and NOT from you own personal experience then please do not answer, or at least do so without trying to FORCE YOUR OPINION down my throat.

This has been happening since December of 2006. He usually has the same sort of appearance (same clothes) and his age is probably in the mid-twenties to thirties. He's either wearing a black or red shirt, however, she never quite sees his whole face. What could this mean? Also, he is never threatening, just hanging/milling around. When she catches a glimpse of him, she always feels like someone's been watching her.

I've been reading up on the alpha personality trait and it seems to explain why jerky *** macho guys usually get the girls. It pretty much makes sense!

It is for my Psychology project working on the theme of "Different Persepectives of Individuals in the Society Today" under the topic of People's Sexualities. My aim is to get different answers from you guys based on your perspectives on why each person have different sexual orientations/sexuality. No homophobic insults please but state your opinions on why is that so.

Any one watch Valerie Singleton's old bit of stuff - you know old Moira Stewart - you know that Po-faced newsreader on the BBC - she's actually quite a good looking woman when she smiles! Anyway, anyone see that programme she did researching into Wilberforce being the architect of abolishing slavery! Well there was a very interesting part in the programme where she was told when she was in Jamaica (no, she went of her own accord - sorry I couldn't resist that), that the Jamaicans have a saying about wilberforce:-

'He had the will but not the force' and I thought that just about sums this whole slavery business up - both now and then!

My question is this - isn't slavery possible because the people being enslaved are too stupid and lacking in imagination to realise they don't have to be subjugated - I mean put this way - has anyone ever enslaved the Afghan mujahideen? - Even the word means 'struggler' in Arabic. Isn't the phrase 'stupid people shouldn't breed' apt?

We were born with certain traits and characteristics that make us who we are, with more influences shaping us along the way. So, can we really change what's bad in us? How?

My greatest regret is that I can never be angry. My anger is just like a bubble which appears on a large ocean. After winning anything, I don't think of the thing I've got but I regret about the one who's coming 2nd after me? I can never be angry or jealous. People say that it is my greatest achievement but I find it very difficult to face it from day to day life. What will I do. I am just 13 years old and my friends have given me the nickname "Alag" (which means different) and have isolated me. What can I do??? Please help me

I really had a traumatized past. All of the people stay away from me and I've been depressed ever since prep. At that time there was no one to lean on to. Not my friends nor family. No one wanted to befriend me. I just kept everything to myself and cried almost everyday. People say i was yucky esp. with me being the ugliest person you'll see. People treated me as if I wasn't human and hurt my feelings a lot. (even teachers hurt me). Because of this, my grades started to fall.
Now, everything started to be alright. I wasn't that ugly duckling anymore and my grades started to go up ( i even had a merit ;)) But I'm still insecure and depressed because I'am fat, no talents and brains while my sisters keep on achieving.
Because of insecurity, I'am a shy and quiet person which affects me so much because there are a lot of things I can't do because of my shyness. I'am scared on what might people think of me again. Can anybody help on how I can improve myself on being shy?

I believe the unique culmination of mistakes, and triumphs we experience throughout life make us into the unique individuals we are, but if we make a mistake, and refuse to acknowledge it as a mistake, we are doomed to continue making that same mistake, because our mind set has not changed. What do you think?
