I believe the unique culmination of mistakes, and triumphs we experience throughout life make us into the unique individuals we are, but if we make a mistake, and refuse to acknowledge it as a mistake, we are doomed to continue making that same mistake, because our mind set has not changed. What do you think?

That's true, but also, you wouldn't have to learn about suffering or hard-learned lessons. Without regrets, you don't learn anything, but you also don't learn about regrets which is good. you wouldn't have to know what pain or suffering or regretfulness was. the lazy mind would rather not have regrets, but people who would want to be wiser and can endure the teachings of life don't mind. Regrets can be beneficial.

Well the only thing that I really take exception to is the word "regret". I do believe that mistakes help you learn, but you don't have to regret them. In fact, it seems as though you think exactly the opposite, because if you make a mistake and are a better person because of it, you wouldn't regret it, right? Nobody gets through life without making mistakes, the trick is trying to limit them by doing the right thing the first time. But if you do make a mistake, don't make it twice.

I don't believe this statement is true.... when we make mistakes or did something wrong and regret it, it doesn't mean that we have learn't from that mistake, its just that we realised how bad our mistake is...... so when we regret upon those things we just hurt ourselves...From my opinion learning from mistakes and regretting is very different..... even if we dont regret we can still learn from our mistakes-this is so true that we can learn without regretting......'No Reget' is always my thought for the day, even if i made a mistake i will not regret because that will haunt me in the future but i can always learn from those mistakes.... So be positive i mean dont let your past haunt you by regreting but at the same time acknowledge your mistakes and learn your lessons from it

I agree. But some people, even acknowledging and regreting their mistakes, sometimes make them again.
It all depends on motivation.

I would not consider it to be true. Not regretting a mistake does not mean that they will do it again.

regret has nothing to do with learning from your mistakes. learn, but don't regret, because regret can't change the past. learning, however, can help your future.
