We have reincarnated many times before, experienced many different conditions, and have done a lot of good and bad deeds. All of these things are recorded in our subconscious. If a person always has nightmares, one of the reasons is that he is being influenced by past karma. Another reason is that asura beings may be trying to control and possess his body and mind. Also, because of our daily contacts with people, we may also have nightmares if others have radiated bad vibrations to us. If we lean toward the negative direction or hold thoughts and concepts that are not correct, we can easily have nightmares, too.

In order to change this condition, we should always be on the lookout, checking our bodies, speech, and minds. Our bodies should be used to serve and benefit all sentient beings. Our speech should only concern moral things that guide people to goodness. In our minds, we should wish for the well being of others and pray for world peace.

At the same time, each night before going to bed, we should concentrate our attention on our wisdom eye in the center of our forehead, and meditate or pray before retiring. Then we can cleanse the contaminated atmosphere that we have gathered during the whole day, and protect ourselves in peace the whole night through..

I have PTSD and suffer with nightmares due to that. Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome can cause terrible nightmares. I have it as a result of seeing many friends killed while I was in the service and also from my car accident. Some people experience this after a bad childhood. It could also be a result of what you are watching or reading before going to bed. Our subconcious will react to those things and bring out our fears through dreams. If they continue to be bad, you may want to seek help in figuring out where they are coming from. I wish you luck and happy dreams in the future.

This may be partly brain development. Usually this development has finished by the age of 7, but that's not true of all people. A doctor can help you figure out the source of your feelings.
The things that can cause night terrors are many, so a professional counselor can help, even when the cause is emotional.

Whether your dream pertains to your thoughts or not, there is a pretty strong fear inside that your subconscious is repeating in the form of images while you sleep. And of course, since the human mind is so powerful - dreams seem as real as possible because the subconscious is capable of creating a surreal reality when the person is unconscious.

Usually for me when i watch or read disturbing thing, i end up dreaming about them or having nightmares.
I hav stopped watching horrors and it has really worked for me.
A nightmare is not a omen that something bad will happen to you, its just your mind continuing thoughts of what you feed it!!
