We adapted and changed due to the sole reason of survival. Why then do we have a conscious and have moral judgments? Techically we did not require these things to survive. We may have even done better in survival if we didn't have morals "nice guys finish last" in the wild in a dog eat dog world you'd imagine the most brutal, the most violent and the most powerful would defeat the nicest. Hence kindness and niceness should have been elimated from the genetic gene pool. Such as people who favored night time and heights have all died out due to dangers of the night and height. A man who lacks moral conscious would obvisiously benefit from survival more than a person who is nice and giving. Why have we evolved all other aspects for survival and yet evolve a trait that would harm us in survival? Dunno this doesn't seem to make sense

I've been working in the marketing and advertising arena for over 10 years and found it to be a hugely superficial industry. I would love to do something more rewarding with my life, however I have no qualifications in this field. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction as to what i will need to study and where is best to do it?

When its dark, I see things, like a type of hologram effect. They can be people, balls, shapes, shadows etc. It only happens when the lights are dimmed. I have been seeing them for about 10 years and sometimes they can be quite scary.

Any ideas what it is can be as I am totally sick of it.

My step-dad had my husband and I watch "the Secret," the movie on the Law of Attraction. I think it had to opposite effect that it's supposed to on people. Now my husband thinks that he should have all of the things he wants, but they aren't coming to him. But he still wants to go by stuff we don't have money for. I'm really trying to be positive about things. But everything bad has happened to us for this past week, I feel like it's going to keep getting even worse. What can I do to stop this downward spiral?

I had a dream the other night about my brother dying in his sleep. A lot of my dreams(while sleeping) come true. It felt so real. I wanted to call him that morning when I woke up to warn him, but I didn't want to scare him. Two nights later I had another dream that I and my family members were going through his things because he had died and we were splitting up his belongings among us. Can anyone tell me what they think this means.

I happen to work with a manager, who unfortunately, I used to know personally. That person is just so nasty, that he is not liked by another in the office. However, because he was in the company for a long and the company’s policy, there is no way he can let go unless he does something really bad. He is such a dick, that he doesn’t have any friends (I am very serious), no one talks to him in the office about things that are not related (basically no one socializes with him). The only thing he has in his life is a wife that he always argues with, and a son, that in my opinion, is glue between him and his wife that keeps them together. My question, should I feel sorry for such person and don’t take it into my head or should I do something about it? I mean, he creates atmosphere in the office that is unfriendly and hostile, which leads to low productivity since people get mad with him. Any ideas?

I'd argue that truer capitalism exists in many Third World countries which have little or no economic regulation.

I am a male 8th grade English teacher and for our winter sports pep rally they asked about 5 of the teachers to perform a skit with the 7th and 8th grade cheerleaders. Its supposed to be in fun but part of the skit is to lift the cheerleader up high. This might sound crazy but I am a little uncomfortable putting my hand on a 13 year old cheerleaders butt. I know she will be wearing panties underneath but still. Is this a little weird or am I out of line thinking its weird

I'm looking for a site than can provide an organized introduction to the macroeconomic forces affecting the stock market. Without a foundation in econ or bus I really don't know what I should try to read up on for an understanding of macroecon. I've already gone through the Minyanville 101 site which I found to be great. All help appreciated.

Nothing annoys me like pulling up to an ATM machine and I can't read the screen because the sun is shining directly into it. The sunlight also damages the screen very quickly, so it must be replaced frequently soon -- compared with any in-home monitor that lasts nearly forever -- costing the bank money.

This only happens to ATMs that face East, West, and South -- which seems to be all of them.

Question: why don't banks build all ATMs to face north instead? It would be impossible for the sun ever to shine on it (in North America & Europe I mean), customers would be better served, the bank would save money. Why does this bit of business economics escape everyone's attention?

Why is it important for the Central Bank of a country (the Fed in the United States) to maintain control over the capital coming in and out of the country?

I cant seem to find any information on this. Anyone know of any good links for this type of information? I have scoured the Fed reserve website and cannot find any mention of why this is important. I know it has to do with monetary policy, but cannot find anything specific.
