I am a male 8th grade English teacher and for our winter sports pep rally they asked about 5 of the teachers to perform a skit with the 7th and 8th grade cheerleaders. Its supposed to be in fun but part of the skit is to lift the cheerleader up high. This might sound crazy but I am a little uncomfortable putting my hand on a 13 year old cheerleaders butt. I know she will be wearing panties underneath but still. Is this a little weird or am I out of line thinking its weird

I would reccomend not touching a student's butt. Seriously, it is weird. If I was the cheerleader, it would freak me out too. Maybe you can participate without lifting up a cheerleader. Of course, the cheerleaders are probably used to it. If you think its weird, then it is probably something you should not do. Imagine the situation. Would you regret this later?

I am a 6th grade science teacher and I would not take part in the skit. I know it is supposed to be fun but its not worth losing your job and possibly your reputation over. Try to see if there is another way you can go about doing the skit without holding up the cheerleader.

oh no i think thats a bad idea... you hear so many stories about teachers moslesting teens... you never know, it could be a lawsuit waiting to happen!

I would decline to lifting her up... dancing with other teachers and the cheerleaders isnt bad though so go and do that!!

hope ya have fun!

Hmmm... if you feel uncomfortable with it then other people will too. I do not think you should take part in it, you cannot lose your job over that but it would alter your public image in someway.

Goodluck and i hope you make the right decision

Yeah, I would just politely decline....tell them you have carpal tunnel or something, in order to avoid any criticism or drama down the road.

I, as a mother of a young girl, don't think this is a good idea...at least not if it were my child.
