My step-dad had my husband and I watch "the Secret," the movie on the Law of Attraction. I think it had to opposite effect that it's supposed to on people. Now my husband thinks that he should have all of the things he wants, but they aren't coming to him. But he still wants to go by stuff we don't have money for. I'm really trying to be positive about things. But everything bad has happened to us for this past week, I feel like it's going to keep getting even worse. What can I do to stop this downward spiral?

Just because we have 'desires' doesn't me we shouldnt have what we wanted (otherwise we wouldn't have the desire) but it does mean that just because we want it doesn't mean we are going to get it RIGHT NOW or even very very very soon. Decades even millenium have passed before people have gotten what they desired. I desire a new computer, and eventually I am going to get one, but not RIGHT NOW or even in the near future (so I don't think). Remind your husband that.

First of all tell your husband that a movie is just that. A movie is meant to fill in for people what they feel they maybe missing. Tell him that the movie industry wants people to get in to there movie.. This is how your husband started with all of this. He wants what is not real. Let him also know happiness is not bought with items. He is still going to have the same sense of something missing even after he buys all this stuff you guys can't afford.
