try picking up a new habbit. I had the same problem... but you see one day long long ago i found a bottle of vodka. You see i was 12 years old and didnt know what the heck it was...i drank it...it burnt all the way down...so i drank some more. Now i am 76 years old and have to regularly attend AA.everyone thinks i should have broke the habbit by now andmore or less i have, and you know what got me out of it?talking to plants. It isnt wierd at all. actually they are my best friends. get tulips...they are better than a cat or dog anyday!!!let me tell you sonnyboy, WOOWEE they talk for ever about the most random things. Why just the other day my freddy(the blue tulip) he's the black sheep of the bunch...or should i say blue.haha but anywho, he kept on throwing a tantrum because he is feeling self conscious about his drooping leaves!!!you see there was this one little lady bug flew in the window and didn't land on him but flew on over to his enemy randolf(the red tulip) and is still over there 3 days later! he just keep goin on and on about the good ole days. let me tell you i wanted to pick up that bottle of vodka once again but loui (the yellow tulip) talked me out of it. hes a real life saver.I don't know what i would do without him. sigh...well now about that behavior problem...i dont know.

Behavior can be changed pretty quickly if you focus on it and know it is true. No denial. For ex: biting nails, picking your lips etc you can put hot sauce on your nails and lipstick or gloss on your lips. Also find out why you do it. Boredom, nerves, anxiety? If you are talking about serious behaviors like addictions, it will be a behavioral change but should be in-patient.

Ive learned this through my sobriety, in changing things we wish to change, it is part of the 12 step program. In your case you would have to Admit that you are powerless over your behavior and your life is unmanageable, than come to believe that a power greater than yourself can restore you to sanity....this list goes on, but there is a start. Hope that helps
