Ummm... right here!!!

I remember a few years ago the theme for Seattle Hempfest (biggest legalization rally in the world) was "Pot Pride" -- borrowed from the gay rights "pride" movement. I thought it was a fantastic idea. There is also a group -- Cannabis Consumers Campaign -- that is dedicated to "coming out of the closet" as a marijuana user. Their website is http://www.cannabisconsumers.org/ it is amazing to see how many people who post would never be pegged as a pot user. You should check it out, I find it sort of heartwarming actually!

In my own life, though, I know a lot of 'proud' potheads. I once had a boss who got his MD from Yale (no joke) and made no excuses about enjoying a pot brownie or two. I have known schoolteachers, grandparents, police officers (also no joke), professors, administrators, and many other non-stereotypical pot users who are not embarrassed of their usage.

Anyway, pot pride! Don't let people's stereotypes about marijuana users get you down. I graduated with a 4.0 in college (also not a joke -- I got an 'A' in every single class I took, was a double major in two academic subjects, and was one of only 2 valedictorians in my class -- and the other valedictorian is just as big a pothead as me!) and am now a fully-funded graduate student at a highly competitive, nationally-recognized research university. I pay taxes, I volunteer, I vote, I go to class, I say 'please' and 'thank you', and I also enjoy a nice bong rip EVERY DAY. So sue me.
