The other night, I was in a 7 story hotel presumably full of guests, and the fire alarm went off at 4:00 am. I smelled smoke in the hallway so I got my party dress on and ran out of there with my husband but without underwear, purse, glasses etc. I take this sort of thing seriously! But only a dozen other guests went outside. It was a false alarm, and I guess someone had merely smoked in my hallway, but geez, why do people take chance with their lives?

Today, as I was sitting in a corner during lunch wiping my red, running nose, playing with my gameboy and not giving a damn about the fact that I was wearing my pajamas, two layers of thermal underwear, huge glasses and with my hair in an unkempt ponytail with hairs flying every which way.....along comes an upperclassman, looking shy and telling me he noticed me coming in and thinks I'm pretty and wants my contact info! o_0

Now, this happens to me all the time. On days when I feel great and dress nicely, I get no attention from boys whatsoever. But on days when I think I could break a mirror, I get attention right and left.

Why is this? Are there guys who have a fetish for sickly, frumpy girls or is this a cosmic conspiracy to boost my self esteem on days when I'm feeling down-in-the-dumps?

His mannerisms and demeanor are eccentric. He is slow and deliberate at times - giving the impression of being extremely laidback - these are times when he is choosing a product at the store or eating. At other times he is haphazard and casual, like when he is driving or performing some menial task. He does not seem accustomed to social norms - he chews with his mouth open, forgets to say thank you and does not clean his mess. He claims that his father is driving him crazy yet maintains a tight "bond" with him. Faithfully answering his calls, cooking for him and letting him make decisions for him. He has trouble sleeping (unless I am there with him) and worries over things - like the fit of his shirt - until they are verbally resolved with me. He's afraid to say "I love you" or "I have feelings" but shows them in peculiar ways - neediness, petty slights and offhand sarcasm. Does he have a disorder? More than one? Thanks!

Its an interesting thought experiment. We as humans adapt to our surroundings and judge everything that we come in contact with. Could it be that everything we perceive is relative to everything else we come in across.
Example: say since birth you constantly looked at dog poo, and its something you saw and came across many many times every single day. Wouldn't it be conceivable to think that you would find that some piles of dog poo looked better than others. Even go so far as to say that some poo was beautiful while other poo was ugly.
This example is obviously very extreme but I want people to think about how our ideas and concepts are shaped from the beginning of our lives.
Tell me what you think about comparing things relativistically to each other, and come up with some other examples that could also work.

Before I go on - this isn't me! I have a friend who asked me this question today because he noticed a pattern in the girls he has dated - every single one of them has had an abusive father or has been emotionally unstable; his mother is not emotionally unstable either, so it's not Freudian. What's the psychology behind this? Any ideas, and is this common? I haven't been able to find anything on it.

A lot of folks round here think that the only worthwhile economic activity is manufacturing heavy tangible objects. And so they complain that advanced economies like the US and the UK are deficient, because instead of everyone being assembly line workers, so many people instead are worthless doctors, accountants, financial analysts, pharmaceutical researchers, graphics designers, etc.

... So my question is, how did these severely retarded people ever learn to use the Internet and come here?

it's really not. WHY ARE PEOPLE RACIST (AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE OF DIFFRENT COLORS,RELIGIONS,CULTURES...ETC)

I am just curious on what others really think. I belive everyone came from what is now Africa and it's ridiculous that people are so ignorant and hold on to so much hatered. This is still being passed down to other generation and it seems like it will never end.

Why is it that in a country where we pay people to figure out how fast a monkey turd can hit the ground as it falls from a tree, how many hairs the average gorilla sheds during the summer, how many pounds of gas the average elephant produces, how many years breast implants last...

...we still can't seem to grasp the idea that schools should not serve children chilli nachos and french fries in a country where juvenile obesity and diabetes is at epidemic levels?

I have asked a few questions on Yahoo!answers and I am confused because what I receive are all answers from different perspectives. For example, I asked what I should do if there is this girl who rejects me. Some say that I should move on, while some say that she might change her mind since it is adolescent time. Is there no fixed answer?
