Good question, and I say that it is not self hate to hate others.
Doesn't everyone hate murderers, child molesters and people that harm the elderly? Surely we all do, if compassion is part of our make-up, then we feel for those delicate ones that are harmed by such individuals.
It isn't self hatred to deplore a person that rapes a child or murders our Mother. It is repulsive to us that believe and think that "evil" exists among us.
Some may think "mankind" is at fault, when in reality it isn't. There are mean and evil people in the world. You can't take the responsibility of WRONG as being something to blame yourselves for.
To your question? I would say that "hate" is dished out to those that we feel counter-act the positive emotion of brotherly love that is generally felt by most of moral value.

No not at all. I should have went to school to be a shrink. Just because you dislike other people doesn't mean you have to hate yourself. Hate is a strong word too. I dislike a lot of people for what they do or what they sand and think. Dislike is a part of life you just have to know when to use it. And if you stop and think you will be able to determine the difference and choose your battles (dislike). Dislike has many shapes and forms. Many reasons it comes about. you have to determine whats really "hate" and whats really dislike. I dislike a lot of things but I give people a chance and dislike later. Just remember no one is perfect and no one ever will be. We're only human. But some people get "hated" or "disliked" because of there actions and selfishness. Give a perosn a chance before you hate.

There are two kinds of hate, bigotry and romantic. All you have to do to hate in a romantic situation is to have loved and trusted and to have been betrayed.
The base of bigotry is trying not to feel bad when "other" people might be better than you. This is the kind of hate you're talking about. And yes, in a way, you have to have serious negative feelings and doubts about yourself to try to find comfort from thinking of other people like that.

So, you mean that the habits of hating one self should be encouraged? No, I don't think so. Instead, to love others, you should learn how to love yourself first. That can work, but not in the "hate" context.
Hope I help

I think you can hate others sometimes. Things happen to us in life good or bad and how we react to them in the beginning isn't always controlled. After the event we do choose how we feel. I can say for certain that if someone molested my child or killed a family member I would not only hate them I would hunt them down. I think that keeping hate inside us makes us hate ourselves so in that event it can destroy us.

no, not really. if you hate yourself, you can't bring people down and hate them. if you ever think about hating others, it's best to deal with hating yourself.hating is not right.

If you hate yourself already, you don't just hate /others/. This is what we call a rhetorical question.

No, not at all. Think about suicidal people. They hate themselves and sometimes believe they are helping the people they love.
