A duck has laid eight eggs in a planter in the greenhouse on top of my building. She has been a good mother so far but I am concerned about when the ducklings hatch. How will they learn to fly, swim, gather food, etc? City services has been of no help. I just want practical suggestions to catching her and moving the nest to a nearby pond without stressing her too much. The eggs should hatch in a week or less.

I built a bird house out of cedar. No birds moved in, but all of a sudden, the thing was thick with bees. Then, just as suddenly, they all went away. I just pulled down the bird house, and it's filled with four slats of wax honey combs. Unfortunately, no honey was left behind, but I think it would be cool to do something lasting with the wax. I don't think they're going to come back to it ever again. Anyone know how to make candles, or anything else, out of the wax?

We saw a snake in our yard in Louisiana about 2 weeks ago. It shook it's tail, but did not have the markings of a rattlesnake or an actual rattle.
