Hmm... since names for fears come from using the animal scientific name combined with the suffix "-phobia", I would call a fear of raccoons "procyonophobia". The "procyon" is the name of the genus which raccoons come from.

A phobia is an irrational fear of something....I wouldn't call a fear of raccoons irrational..seeing how they are associated with rabies in a big way and are in general not very nice animals, i would say that it is a good fear to have!
I haven't found anything "phobia" name wise for raccoons...probably if there is one it is lumpped together with a group of things rather then having its own name.

Doraphobia: An abnormal and persistent fear of fur. Sufferers of this fear avoid fur-bearing animals such as dogs, cats, foxes, beavers and rabbits because fur is repulsive to them. Perhaps some of these phobics associate fur with childhood stories about "the big bad wolf" and other fur-bearing predators. Their fear is not always unfounded, for many furry animals -- including bats, raccoons, dogs and cats -- can be carriers of rabies, an acute viral infection of the central nervous system. An animal can transmit this disease to a human through a bite and, in rare cases, through contact with the animal's blood or tissue or even through inhalation of the rabies virus in a bat cave. The disease is fatal unless an infected person receives rabies shots soon after contracting the illness.

Their is no fear of raccoons. there is Musophobia fear of mice and rats and Zoophobia a generic fear of animals.

They don't like the smell of vinegar....It's cheap. Just put a small amount in a bowl and place it in whatever area they are coming into.
