Because they don't have wings and the fact that they are too heavy to fly.
However, pigs can still fly if they are on a plane, helicopter or a hot air ballon. Evolutionary speaking, pig might be able to fly due to genetic mutation or gross-breeding, such flying result would take tens of millions of years, which I doubt humans will survive that long.
Beside, in order for pigs to fly you need a big and a very catapault.
The only mammals that can fly are the bats and we all know that pigs aren't bat.

When you get your food by rooting up the ground, I suspect evolution took the view that wings would encourage the extinction of the species.
Diving from about fifty feet to find truffles under the ground might actually hurt a bit.... Think bungee without a rope.

They tried long ago. Everyone knows, the tail is kind of a steering device, and because the pigs could only fly loopings, they finally gave up several million years ago, during which time they lost their wings...

Because, if they did, we wouldn't have the expression 'and pigs might fly' to denote something that will never happen.
And that would be a sad thing.

silly because all pigs suffer with vertigo doesn't everyone know that. except that is when tinkerbelle and peter pan are around with pixie dust because who wouldn't feel like flying then.
