Some sunny days pan out, while others don't. Can I guage when a great sunset is approaching before it happens? What things might I look for in the environment to tell me ahead of time?

Is it really dangerous to swim when it is lightning or is this just a myth?

I know water conducts electricity but this doesn't make the lightning any more likely to strike a person in water. A person standing on the ground is just as likely to attract a lightning bolt. Why would the lightning care if your body is surrounded by water or air?

Lightning tends to strike tall objects so since water accumulates at the lowest points, wouldn't it be safer to stand in a lake than on top of a hill?

I noticed last night the moon was shining gold all night. I went out about five minutes to five this morning and the moon was huge and blood red...I wonder why? I live in Los Angeles, Ca by the way. Think it has something to do with the wild fires happening here?

Last night, the sunset here in Michigan was amazing - colors like I've never seen. Pink skies, turning to blazing yellow and oranges. A friend of mine said it was due to the fires in California. Could this be true? Could the fires all the way in CA affect the colors in a Michigan sunset?

How is humidity defined and how does temperature affect the ability of air to hold water vapor? How does this relate to the way clouds form?

I don't mean to sound stupid but...

Right now I'm looking outside and the sun is like deep red-orange and I can actually see it without hurting my eyes. It's usually yellow-white ish but right now it's like deep red.

I live in Southern California. Is it because of all the fires currently happening right now? Or is there an eclipse or something that I never heard about?

I know someone who works at the Long Beach Airport doing ground operations. As a result, his position requires him to work outdoors. Now that these wildfires have affected the air around him, what can he do to minimize the exposure since he's based outdoors? I'm worried about him.

For the last 5,000,000 years we have been in an Ice Age Era, moving from glacial (approx. 80,000 yrs) to interglacial (20,000 yrs.) periods. This known as the Milanovitch Cycle. Land in the North is rebounding back up from having been depressed by enormous glaciers of the previous glacial event.
Remember, to every action their is an equal and opposite reaction-- that would mean that the land at the equator would have bulged as a reaction... and so it too would now be resettling. It can be surmised that in its final stage, the rebound would escalate-- that would mean earthquakes (especially under the sea) and tsunami's at a faster rate and with greater severity. With all that activity under the sea (friction), you would have warming which of course, would then move to the atmosphere-- torrential rains, floods and hurricanes. Hmmm. The next phase would be tonnes of snow!
Mankind has reduced forests, and glacial events do again as much. Forests provide the air we breath!!
