Working outside during California wildfires.?

I know someone who works at the Long Beach Airport doing ground operations. As a result, his position requires him to work outdoors. Now that these wildfires have affected the air around him, what can he do to minimize the exposure since he's based outdoors? I'm worried about him.

use respirator, a face mask isn't enough.

he needs to wear a oxygen mask

Theres really nothing you can do make sure he wears fire proof clothes if possible.
