Okay, i have this OVERWELMING fear of tornadoes, when ever the red bar goes on the channel saying there's a severe thunderstorm watch i panic. I live in Ontario. I've never seen a tornado, but once, when i was swimming when i was like 5, there was apparently an f1 in my city. Im really scared and i want to know the chances of one hitting in eastern/southern ontario?? I hate this fear!!!When ever i see a dark cloud coming i get scarred :( .

my question is how long does the high pressure gennerally stay there, and/or does it (the pressure) weaken? hurricane dean has yet to reach the gulf coast, is it possible for that pressure to change before the hurricane is actually in the gulf?

I'm a little confused. I'm reading all about the flooding, loss of life and devastation that Hurricane Erin has caused and the current threat is Hurricane Dean. I looked up Hurricane names and they say they go in alphabetical order so can someone please explain this to me. Obviously Dean should be before Erin???

My town turns brown and gets a gross cloudy haze every afternoon because of a fire miles and miles away. and then everything gets covered in a very fine coat of ash. But it only starts in the afternoon, and the fire's been burning for weeks. what is it about the night and morning that keeps the ash and smoke out of my town?

I live in bakersfield ca(the valley aka smog net) and the fire is in santa barbara ca

Well, I have always wondered, if you are in the passenger's seat, and have your face next to the wide-open window and the car is going 70mph, does that mean the wind is also hitting you at 70mph?

Or maybe it is hitting you at 70mph PLUS the amount that the news said it was traveling by.. I've always been so curious to find this out. Lol.
