It's 4 degrees fahrenheit right now where I'm at, with wind chills at 25 to 30 below zero. It's too cold to go outside!

Could calls automatically be placed to all cell phones in a certain cell tower zone to alert all in the area that a tornado warning is in effect? Could this work? Has it been tried? Is it being worked on?

It has never been a secret that Minnesota gets cold in the winter. Right now, we have been below 0 degrees F since about 1 AM Saturday morning, and don't expect to get above until tomorrow (today in Monday). We have had weather like this in the past, and are known to have some of the coldest temps in the continental United States. But yet, people still move here and complain about it be "too cold".

I keep hearing to get in a ditch, when no shelter is available. Is any depression in the landscape better than nothing? I was told that in an F5 tornado, nothing survives, unless underground.

I know global warming makes ice melt and hotter climates around the world but what is causing such cold weather in the midwest. It has been below freezing for over 4 weeks now. I thought el-nino made weather warmer in the winter months

All throughout the State of Michigan Tempatures are droping very fast. They will continue like this all druing the day. Almost every schoool in Michigan is closed. Accecpt Midland Public Scools. I think this is absurd. Frost Bite can set in after 15 minutes outside at these tempatures.

I am working on an assignment for my geography class, and I am having a hard time figuring this out. We were given about 2 paragraphs talking about the Bermuda-Azores High Pressure Cell / Maritime Influence.... My professor wants us to explain why the English didn't find the same type of climate in Virginia as the climate in Italy when they came to Jamestown. Something about how the high pressure system in the middle of the Atlantic affects Virginia differently than it affects Italy.
If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know as soon as possible, I really am having a hard time with this. Thanks so much. :)
