I live in DC, where it is currently under 60 degrees. However, the heat has been turned on in our dorm rooms, and so it is usually warm in our room. When we want to cool down, we open the window to let air in. However, for days we could not seem to change the temperature of the room; with our windows wide open we still had a warm room. It appeared that no air was coming in from outside. Just today, I noticed that if I left the door to our room (the door to the hallway) open, wind would rush in through the windows, thus cooling the room. I was wondering if anybody had any idea why this is true--I can only think of how air works in a vacuum, but that doesn't seem to apply.

My husband is a trucker who goes all across Canada and we'd like to find a good site that will show what kind of weather he'll be driving into. I need a satellite pic site that will be in real time so he can avoid the worst storms on the prairies. Weather Network doesn't seem to offer this, nor does weatherbug.ca. Love to hear from other truckers if there are any out there!

Cheers,

meteorologists can't predict the weather from one year to the next, so why would they be able to predict the weather a hundred years from now?

Generally ice got weight. As a rule it can not be stored in air. Then how can it be there in clouds. During rain, sometimes, there is hailstorm. How is it possible. It may look silly, but when I have observed raining yesterday I had this doubt. Nothing can be stored in the air due to gravitational pull of the earth. Clouds are less weighed and hence they stay in air. But hail storsms? .......
