I`m assuming some external factor, possibly the cloud colour or time of day governs why lightning appears different colours, but can anyone give me a detailed answer in "layman's terms" as to why it happens?

In my hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky, there is never much snow during the winter season. Yes, it will snow, but only for one day and then it is all melted and gone the very next day, never to be seen again for a whole year. So, will I be seeing a lot of snow this winter?

I watched a show on The Discovery Channel about the possible earthquake and Tsunami. I live in Northern California and it worries me knowing that it can happen at anytime.
Does anyone else have a huge fear of this happening?
I want to move, but it's so difficult. I have no idea where to go to be safe from mother nature. I know she's pretty mad. Does anyone know a safe place to live?
I know this might sound like a stupid question, but I have looked, and don't have much luck.
Thanks..

A gaming and science-fiction driven question. Assume the city has trees, lakes and ponds and, if necessary, oxygen generators of some kind.

yes the world has gotten warmer - i am not convinced that we are the cause ( NATURE ! ) or that the change is long term ( on a global scale that could be a few thousand years lol )

BUT I AM SICK OF IDIOTS LINKING ONE SUMMER TO CLIMATE CHANGE !!!!!!!!
