The cost of gas and oil have both spiralled much more than global warming effect to reduce heating needs. If you reduce your room temperature by 1 degree C then it reduces your bill by 8%. Check if you are overheating particular rooms that you do not use on a regular basis. If you live in a reasonably well insulated home the room temperature will be retained for a long time, perhaps one hour. This means you could reduce your time clock hours every evening and save a lot. A reduction of half an hour per day means three and a half hours per week or 91 hours in a six month heating season. By combining reducing time clock hours and reducing room temperature you could save a lot of money.

Cos the heating companies where sold of to Johnny Foreigner (not PC)and they only have eyes for the bottom line,PROFIT.That's why even though the the gas price has reduced by 2 thirds they wont reduce it to customers. They know we have no choice..Big customer movement I think to the first one that gives a substantial reduction..

because the Russians are rationing natural gas supplies to Europe - lets face it in a dying economy you have to make as much as you can from what little natural resources you have left. Also some issue with one of the former Soviet states sabotaging gas lines running over their land and taking what they see as their fair share.
