I have few ideas such as using several large fountains in series that shoot sea water into the air hundereds of meters to cool the surrounding area. This may effect the dessert climate in a way that it may start to eventually cool the atmosphere and bring in cool air currents. The fountains would take seawater from the nearby seas that surround a particular country and by using gas turbine pumps send the water high into the atmosphere. There would be a byproduct of this process in that it will create seawater lakes that may also contribute to cooling the local area.

Also, as the water falls it will draw in cooler upper atmoshpere air similar to what happens in rain squals when wind is generated by the falling rain drops.

A couple years ago, the temp was 20 degrees outside. I checked the thermometer. I don't know why i waited this long to post this question. It just came to me. Anyway, the temp outside was 20 degrees, and it was pouring down rain and thundering and lightning. I am not kidding. It was one heck of a thunderstorm. This was around 9 o'clock that night. I remember it well because i have never seen it rain like that at 20 degrees. I live in southeast VA if that will help any. Why did it rain and not snow? Has anyone else ever seen anything like this?

Okay, I'm different, and I love thunderstorms... so i was just wondering, which state in the united states has the most frequent and severe thunderstorms? If you don't know scientifically... what would you guess it would be? I'm just curious... because they're great. Am I the only one that thinks so? lol

I'm not sure if the name is wooly bear caterpillar? It's those black hairy caterpillars that usually have black hair at the ends with red hairs in the middle. I cannot recall whether the width of those red hairs in relation to the black hairs supposedly predicts what kind of weather to expect in the winter?
