Easiest way to remember whether we lose or gain an hour in DST is : Fall behind; Spring ahead. Therefore in Fall when we change the clocks to DST we adjust the time BACK one hour. We do this to give us one extra hour of daylight in the fall and winter seasons. Then in the Spring we adjust the clocks to Eastern Standard Time which means we turn the clocks ahead one hour.

Jessica P,
Daylight savings time happens in the spring. Regular standard time happens in the fall. You turn your clock forward in the spring and you turn you clock backwards in the fall. Just remember.....

Spring forwards and Fall backwards
