LOVE IT!!!!!

I was born in San Diego.
I went to college in San Luis Obispo.
I went to grad school in Berkeley.
I've lived in the San Francisco area for all of my adult life.
Both my kids born here.
My ex and i bought and sold five homes here.
I love my small, liberal, sophisticated, safe little town.

I never want to live anywhere else--and i've travelled all over the world, too, so i'm not saying that out of ignorance of other places.

I think it's great, but I was born here. I would reccommend to anyone thinking about relocateing here to find a place about three to six miles inland, where the weather will be moderated by the ocean, but not foggy too often. Then the snow will be in drivable distance, and the summers not too extreme.

Along the coast, Southern California starts at the border and runs to Gaviota Pass, (north of Santa Barbara) where the "Graduate" drove thru backwards [in the context of the film]; Middle Coastal California includes all the towns on state Hwy 1 and US 101, to the mouth or delta of the Salinas river at Santa Cruz (where they are either the north end of middle California or the south end of northern California, depending on how they feel that day); San Francisco is so cosmopolitan nothing around it has that coastal town feel, but by the time you get to Fort Ross, where the Russians had a colony in the early 1800's (north of Bodega Bay) you are truely in North Coastal California.

nice weather but i would rather have the change of seasons. Makes each season worth more and like the earth is really changing even though day to day life may sometimes seem unchanging
