Most decent schools should be closed. Where i live in midland Michigan all schools are. Accept mine. We are 1 of 4 schools open. The temperature here is -13 without and -30+ With the wind chill. Luckily my mom cares about my safety so no school for me. Hm although i did miss Friday so ill have double the makeup tomorrow. Oh well.

Should be. School is already cancelled here tomorrow. Schools around here in NY close if the wind chill gets below a certain point, especially the district has a large percentage of walkers.

One can only hope. I would expect that they will still hold school tomorrow. Roads won't be blocked, so transportation can still run.
Hopefully, you have a ride, and don't have to walk a long distance in that weather.

OK,OK, so I was wrong. All the schools in my area are closed today. Bitter wind chills. Heavy snow warning. Dang, but it's cold!

Girl, in Dayton this morning, schools are closing faster than mousetraps. I dontknow if its a rule or something, but I'm going to put on my fuzzy pink snow suit and go out and make some Wind Chill men! It makes me wish I was still in school!

I am told that air temperature of -20 cancels school, not wind chill.

I would say no. If the actual temperature got down into the double digits, then maybe, but not the wind chill.

I'm from Alaska, and we still have school on those cold days (or else we'd never have school!). If this is really unusual for your area, then school might be canceled, but as long as there's not a ton of snow, school will most likely go on as usual. I recommend wearing a really warm jacket! :)

I think it all depends on where you live. In Quebec, there is lots of snow and cold often with extreme windchills and schools rarely close because of it.
Yet, I live on Canada's west coast and here just a little snowfall can cause widespread school closures as we're not so used to seeing it here.

There is NO such thing as "dangerously cold". There is such a thing as "dangerously underdressed" and of course dangerously hot weather.
Dress properly and you will be fine. I've experienced windchills of 50 below, no problem. -30 isn't too bad. Cover your ears, head, mouth, neck and nose. Wear boots and mittens.

it is already -6.4 F in my part of indiana with a wind chill of -32F
most schools are on delays but unless a warm wind blows in i will NOT be seing my babies out in this...... i wouldnt even send my dogs out in this and they have fur.
THE DIFFENCE BETWEEN HERE AND ALASKA IS THAT MOST CHILDREN HERE HAVE SUB STANDARD COATS MEANT FOR THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPS OF 0+F... I DONT KNOW A SINGLE CHILD WITH AN ALASKAN STYLE PARKA.
MY KIDS WEAR A SIMPLE LEATHER COAT OR A CHEAP SKI JACKET AT BEST. IT IS NOW -7F ACTUAL TEMPS AND NOT EVEN AN OUNCE OF SNOW........ THIS IS RECORD BREAKING COLD FOR OUR AREA. schools should cancel
