My mom was hospitalized for phemonia, and had to be put on the ventalator. I almost lost her, so much to the point that I was asked a couple of times how long I was going to continue her treatment. In order to keep her from pulling out the tubes they gave her Versed Inj/ MIDAZOLAM. They told me she would not remember the trauma, but never that she would a side effect of short term memory loss perminatly.

I've heard about this in the OB context and don't know if it applies elsewhere. I have asked several of my professors about this and they don't seem to know the answer even though they taught this.

it is said that type O is a universal donor (me as the donor), but it can only recieve type O

that doesn't make sense, if i am "donating" type O, than ANYONE should be able to recieve it - don't call type O a universal donor is that donor can only DONATE to a person that only can recieve type O!!! if this is wrong, please give me an example in your answer like a girl with type O who wants to donate to a boy

In other words, the estimated value of a healthy human body is $37,000,000. Why can't we have a company similar to an insurance company that works with hospitals to give the average human being a "premium" based on their health and the probability that they will live with functional organs, plasma, etc. for a given amount of time. Why should we have to donate our priceless organs when we die. Think about all of the non-donors that would sign up for the premium, and all of the lives it would save. Could someone make this into a real business legally?
