Do NOT give your dog Celebrex. That is a medication that was designed, tested, and studied for HUMANS. Consult a licenced vet. They are the ones who has studied animal physiology, pharmacology, and pharmacokinetics of medications designed solely for animals.

The correct dose of a prescription medicine for humans may depend on body weight, strength of the dose and interval between doses to avoid harmful reactions. Very expensive clinical tests are required by the FDA. Some substances such as chocolate may be toxic to a dog but not to a human. Some medicines (equivalent to human medicines) have been developed for animals including dogs and cats. It follows that only a Vet should be consulted to avoid harm to your pet while providing real relief. Better to be safe than sorry.

Do you ask your plumber for advice about gardening? Does the kid who takes your money at the gas station give you cooking lessons? They probably stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so they're qualified to let you risk your pet's health, right?

Don't ask questions like that here - find someone who's gone to school for 7-8 years to study animal physiology, pharmacology, and anatomy. Find someone who is licensed by your state to dispense medicines for animals, and knows which ones will react differently in animals than in humans.

Or maybe you think you can sue your plumber if your dog dies suddenly?

I have a couple of friends who are vets and vet techs that use Y!A. They spend more time in the pets section and may be able to better help you there.
