For me all are of the same rank, no blood type is better than other blood types.....
Think about it. The only thing blood type AB has that others don't is their degree of rarity. Well if you are an AB you can receive blood types other than AB only, that's why they call it the universal recipient. If you are an O,A or B it's pretty common and easy to find a match of the same blood type other than type AB only. So you can't say AB is the best or O is the best blood type coz all are equal.

We've all heard the blood banks, begging for donors, and it's a very serious matter.
AB RH+ is universal recipient, because it can receive blood of all types, which in case of a blood shortage at the blood bank, could mean the difference between life and death.
As about O RH-, those who have it, and need blood transfusion could be in big trouble... it is very rare, and only receives O RH-. And yes, it is a universal donor.
There are stories that people of a certain blood type, can withstand certain diseases better. For instance I've heard that when Europe was plagued with the Black Death, those who were of the A type blood group survived better. But as I said, it could only be a story.
Did I mention that I don't like blood... I'd prefer to have Pepsi running through my vessels

AB- is the most rare blood type and can only donate to AB and AB-...O- is the universal donor and can only receive from O-...i wouldn't necessarily call one type or another the best...it all depends on the circumstances...if you are receiving blood it is better to have AB-...if you are giving blood it is better to have O- because it is a universal donor

AB is not too bad, in an emergency, they may also give you A or B or O. You may not donate to any but AB.

o- is the universal donor and can only receive that type.
0+ is the universal recipient and can receive ANY type.
so I'd rather be o+ in a emergency i guess....
