I need to get a simple 6V circuit working with a 12V powersupply, what resistor do i need to get it working?

Do i:

A/ Double the size of existing resistors in the circuit(although im guessing not)

B/ Put a resistor on the plus side, between the circuit and the psu, and what resistance should it have?

this moment of inertia is not related to the mass.
it is the second moment of area i'm talking about......

for example take the semicircle the moment of inertia about the centroid parallel to its base(diameter) is= 0.11*r^4

but the moment of inertia about the centroid perpendicular to its base is =(pi*r^4)/8
why is it so?

Solenoid coil was used in a refrigeration circuit and is exposed to marine environment. Current fuse eventually burnt, causing circuit to shut down. I have the solenoid coils in my possession to do a teardown analysis. Need advice on how to determine the root cause of failure and concrete evidence.

So often, bridges spanning a divided highway (say, 4 lanes total with a grass strip in the middle) span the whole thing. There are no columns in the middle, which would make the I beams much lighter. From what I recall in mechanical engineering, the stress on the I beams goes up dramatically (more than linearly) with the span. And deflection goes up as a fairly high power (3rd, 4th, 5th, more?) of the span. Also, the supports typically are slanted away from the shoulders, requiring even more span. It looks like these bridges are crying out for a set of poles in the middle.

On a detachable link for anchor chain, I believe that I have heard that the extreme pressure developed when driving the slightly tapered locking pin can cause a recrystallization of the steel parts into silicon steel when silicone spray is used. White grease is recommended, plus an annual disassembly and regrease. Materials engineers to the rescue?

All are in good clean condition that need mechanical repair and it wouldn't be cost effective if repaird and resold. So what else can I do with them instead of useing them for scrap metal.

Any Artistic, Rural, & ECO suggestion's would be of great help !

I have a 17,000 gallon pool that stays around 76 degrees during the summer. I want to be able to circulate enough heated water (BTU's) to maintain an 86 degree temp. thru the summer months. This question has nothing to do with how I plan on heating the pool (black plastic solar panels btw) but how may BTU's I will need to raise 17,000 gallons from 76 to 86 degrees and maintain that 86 degree water temp 24 hours a day. The solar panels that I'm looking at produce 80,000 BTU's in a 24 hour period. I don't know how difficult this problem will be to solve but I'm sure some engineer is out there that can. Thanks.
