The wire is 150' long, and weighs 75 lbs. I'm looking for the force (in pounds) to stretch the wire, allowing a 3 foot deep sag in between the poles used to hang the wire on.

Well the truth is that I just purchased a tortilla machine and it is wired to run on 208V 3phase power but I only have 220Vsingle phase power at my restaurant , now the question is : can it be converted to run on single phase rather than 3phase , converting my whole power supply will be very costly
also there is 5 wires comming out of the machine 3 blacks L1,L2 and L3 also a green wire for the ground , but there is also a white wire that says N, I suppose is for neutral . I know that I should contact a Licenced Electrician that is obvious
but I just want to touch bases with you and see what do you think. thanks for for your input , god bless.

Is this the start of a robot revolution?

We already know it can walk with asimov body http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASIMO
and it obviously looks sorta flesh and human like, but more importantly, do you believe that the ai hanson used worked "unscripted" in front of the cameras?

What is your predicted time line till their production starts?
where will they be applied to first, and how much $$ will they cost?

I have to do a PowerPoint Presentation on how light-weight things are made to be so strong.

Basically I am supposed to talk about plastic and fiber glass.

My teacher told me that airplanes are supposed to be light weight, and many of their wings are actually made from plastic. Though plastic is light weight engineers have been able to make it strong enough so that it can be used on planes.

Also I need info on how fiber glass, despite its light weight is so strong.

Can somebody give me some information that they know or useful links of sites that provide such information? I just need to be able to explain it, in a simple manner. Please remember that I am not even in college. How are they able to make such things?

Thanks

I have a big (10 ft by 16 ft) shed that needs to be moved to a spot 50 feet away. I have heard stories of Amish folk attaching handles to barns and walking them. Can you find me a live link to a first generation news story (no blogs) with photo about moving barns or houses by hand? Thanks!

I want plain-carbon (medium carbon is best) steel, not stainless, not galvanized. I just want flat pieces for a project I'm doing. Will Home Depot or OSH have that or do I need to go to a more specialized place (such as...)?
Thanks.

A tick will fill up with so much blood that can no longer walk. A mosquito fills up and can hardly fly. Then it dies in a 24 hour period. Just seems counter productive? All that blood going to waste. And, what does it actually do with the blood?
